A low wolf's howl shattered the darkness. Dozens of wolves instantly leaped from the shadows, lunging like arrows shot from a bow to pin down the massive black-and-red python. They tore madly at its flesh with their sharp fangs.
In just the blink of an eye,
the giant python stopped writhing. The wolf pack had stripped its skin and flesh, reducing it to a pool of gore and bone.
Droplets of blood stained the Silver Wolf's soft fur. It lowered its head beside the python's gory corpse and sniffed lightly. In an instant, its lupine pupils constricted to pinpricks.
A furious howl. "It's a trap!"
"Awoo?" The remaining wolves lifted their heads from the python's flesh, tilting them in confusion as they looked at the fierce expression on the Silver Wolf's face.
