Chapter 109 - The Strange Behavior of Naga

The next day, Arthas looked at the rushing murloc slaves again, with the naga priest driving them from behind and the three-meter-tall Naga soldiers protecting him. Naga belonged to a matriarchal clan, where the status of female nagas is much higher, and only female nagas can use spells.

"Why are they attacking? The nagas never attacked here before," Arthas frowned, having handed over the command of the troops to Marlene.

He was very satisfied with Marlene's outstanding command; at least he had to admit that his command ability was not comparable to that of this mature woman. Brigitte's command skills were also excellent, especially when she was a captain, as she could inspire morale to those under her. She was suitable to be a captain, while Marlene was suitable to be a commander, one in charge of the overall view, the other responsible for military operations.

"I don't know, they just suddenly attacked. There's a clan of murlocs called Grayfin near the coast, and they've always coexisted peacefully. They once tried to invade the farms but were driven back by me, and for a long time afterward, there was peace. Could they be here for revenge?" Brigitte shook her head, clearly unable to think of the reason.

"Maybe they want something?" Marlene suddenly spoke up, her full, rosy lips possessing a unique charm, easily reminding him of the scene from last night where those lips had wrapped around him.

"I plan to defend for another day, wait for the murlocs offensive to weaken before probing deeper. I feel they are brewing something." Arthas frowned as he looked into the distance, where he vaguely saw nagas looking back at him.

"Well, you'll need to bring your elite troops," Marlene didn't stop him; in this situation, defense was the safest. But nagas were different; they were tough and could cast even more powerful spells than mages. If the Naga pushed the seawater to flood in, he wouldn't have a better solution. The wars in the World of Warcraft were never child's play.

Wuwu! The horns of attack sounded again, and Arthas led the charge, having killed two massive sea giants. A one-ton iron anchor smashing down only knocked him back a few steps, while the sea giant was killed by the rebound. The experience points from the slaughter kept rising, and his eyes became increasingly fervent.

Besides commanding, Marlene was also observing Arthas. She had heard the rumors about this prince, who was so perfect: filial, devout, diligent, eager to learn, humble, and elegant. Almost every praise you could think of applied to him; such a man was nearly flawless. However, she noticed one thing: Arthas hid his desires very deeply, only showing them at the right time.

Last night, he had even wanted to have a physical relationship with her. As a fallen lady noble, Marlene was not a girl like Brigitte; she had her own judgment. Indeed, Arthas had great ambitions, but his plans were quite clear.

There were still many details that needed to be refined, but there was no doubt that the Arthas was right in planning to leave and start his power base on the other continent. The northern lands had basically been divided up. Humans, high elves, trolls, and dwarves. To the south was the Kingdom of Stormwind and past that were barren lands.

Further south was the jungle-filled primeval forest, filled with even more brutal trolls that ate people, with no potential for development. Going to Kalimdor would be more appropriate, avoiding the need to scheme with the nobles here, while also being able to extract a fortune from the unclaimed land!

Marlene believed that with her and her niece assisting, Arthas would definitely be able to accomplish a portion of his plan. She didn't see anything wrong with an older cow eating tender grass; Arthas was interested in her, and she was also interested in this young prince.

However, what comes easily won't be cherished; distanced potential will slip away. So she gave Arthas an unforgettable oral experience, locking him firmly in place. With her looks and charm, even if she couldn't become his wife, she could still live quite well. The most important thing was the essence of life that Arthas gave her; she felt her skin improved significantly, becoming more elastic and shiny. When a man chooses a woman, a woman will also observe a man. If suitable, they come together; if not, there won't even be a ripple of water.

After a whole day of fierce battles, the murlocs and nagas had already retreated, leaving a ground littered with corpses. There were murlocs, nagas, and humans among the dead. Arthas was panting heavily; he had leveled up three times and was now at level thirty-five.

"Ding, learned Focus Aura."

"Ding, learned Devotion Aura."

"Devotion Aura: Allies within fifty meters, including yourself, take 10% less damage."

"Focus Aura: Allies within fifty meters, including yourself, gain a 10% accelerated health regeneration and a 10% increase in holy energy attack."

Once the auras took effect, Arthas felt that his health recovery speed had accelerated significantly. In the game, Focus Aura increased armor value. In the system, it became a more simple damage reduction. Especially since the auras could unexpectedly affect two at the same time! This felt a bit invincible; if he could activate the auras of other professions or hero units, wouldn't that mean he was on the road to becoming increasingly invincible?

"Your Highness, are you okay?" Brigitte asked with concern.

"I'm fine." Arthas looked into the distance at the blood-covered maiden Vanessa, who insisted on coming out to battle. She had rogue skills, safely killing the murlocs and nagas near the frontline with minimal danger. Even if she was injured, she could be healed. What surprised him was that he saw Calia wielding a longsword, gritting her teeth as she slaughtered the wailing murlocs, while Vanessa seemed to be explaining something to her, was she teaching her?

"Let's go see what those nagas are up to," Arthas quietly led his retinue to follow; he had a premonition that those nagas were concocting something. This kind of meaningless attack could only be for the purpose of depleting living forces. Such foolish behavior could only stem from an overpopulation wanting to seek death.

However, the Endless Sea was too vast; how could it not support the nagas and murlocs? So there must be a conspiracy.

"Yes, Your Highness," Brigitte said a bit excitedly; wasn't this the best time to strengthen their relationship by going on an adventure together with the prince? The prince was so sought after; if she was late to act, she would regret it!
