Chapter 12 - Ch. 12. The Baby.

"Kill Gavin? Why! He needs help! If you do that, then you are no longer my protectors. You are my enemes and my murderes because he is part of me! He is one with me! I love Gavin!"

I unleashed my wings and flew after Gavin.

"Please, lady, Alyssa! You must understand. We are doing this for you!"

"Shutup! Don't give me that crap!" I yelled, and I was out of sight, flying behind the other pheonoxes. They brung Gavin to our room and opened a secret room. They opened the door behind a bookcase. I didn't know what there. They brought him in, and I followed, standing tall and brave.

The pheonixes noticed me standing in the door and quickly through Gavin in a cage I didn't notice was in there.

"He mustn't be touched." One pheonix said.

"He will hurt you." Said another.

I ignored them and walked toward the cage. Gavin had stopped seizing, but he was unconscious. I opened the cage and turned him on his side. Then I mustered everything I had left and healed him. He opened his eyes and sat up.

"You saved me." He said.

The pheonixes were watching, awestruck.

"We apologize, lady Alyssa. We didn't know you could do that. Only one in a million fire goddesses cab, so this is a blessing. You may punish us however you like."

"You aren't punished. You are dismissed."

They left, and I hugged Gavin, my body in the most pain it's ever been in.

He hugged me back and started crying. "I was scared, but I knew you were going to be safe, even if I died. I knew I was going to die. I felt it in my blood. The pyrolisk poisoned me with its bite. You saved me." He let go, and I sat up.

We walked out of the room and closed the door behind us.

"Maybe next time, tell me about that?" I said.

"Actually, I didn't know about it either. It was probably a last-minute safe room built in this ship before I bought it."

"Well, I'm just glad we won't need that again. The pyrolisks are extinct. I felt it after the last one died. My body felt like salted butter and caramel. I don't know how, but I knew they were all dead." I paused and looked at him.

"Wait, what happened to Gytham?"

"Who's that?" He asked.

My blood went cold. "The man who called you over to the security room?"

"Oh. Yeah. Him." He said. "He transformed into a pyrolisk after I left you in the closet. We fought near the security room, and I smashed his head in. He disintegrated. I never got his name, so I didn't realize you were talking about him."

I let out a breath and smiled. "Good. We're safe now, then." I started walking toward the kitchen, and Gavin followed. "I need coffee. I don't feel so -" At that moment, I passed out, landing in Gavins' arms. The last thing I felt was his arms around me, carrying me to our bed.

When I woke up, I was in more pain than before, and Gavin was nowhere to be seen.

"Babe?" I called out, and I heard him shuffling around in the kitchen. He came in with a tray of breakfast and a nervous smile on his lips.

"Hello, I made you some coffee and breakfast." He laid the tray of my lap, and I saw many different idems. Toast with strawberry jam, eggs, bacon, a pancake with strawberries, whip cream and chocolate chips, and my traditional coffee with cream and sugar.

"Thanks! Oh my god, this looks delicious." I said and tried to cover the pain on my face by drinking the coffee. "It's perfect! Just the way I like it!" Although, to be honest, it tasted funny. It didn't taste like coffee. It tasted like herbal tea and cream.

He looked fidgety and kept shifting his weight. He looked like he was waiting for something. I ate my breakfast and when I finished, I felt tired. But not the normal happy tired after a meal. I looked at him, and he was smiling. I passed out right as he moved my tray off the bed and climbed in with me.

When I woke up again, I genuinely wanted to die. My body felt like it was on fire but had frostbite at the same time.

I cried out and tried to stay quiet. I didn't know what was happening, but I knew one thing for certain. That food had something in it.

I leaned over the bed and puked I to a trash can. All the food I had just eaten came right back up.

I looked over at Gavin. He had no clothes on. That's when I noticed I didn't have anything on either. I climbed out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom. I locked the bathroom door and got in the bathtub. I had nothing else to puke up, but the pain was so bad that I screamed into a towel. I held it up to my mouth, trying to stay quiet, but the pain was unbearable. I screamed again and again.

There was a knock at the door as I sobbed into the towel.

"Babe? Are you alright?" Gavin called from the door. I was in so much pain that I couldn't even answer. I just let out another sob, and he tried to open the door.

"Don't. Please don't come in." I cried, holding back another scream.

"Babe, please! Let me in." I hesitated for a moment, then another zap of unbearable pain struck me, and I screamed. Gavin slammed his shoulder against the door until it splintered and broke. He ripped the rest of the door off its hinges as he ran into the bathroom. When he saw me on the bathtub, pale as a ghost, he gasped and took a step back.

I let out another scream, then a sob. I was leaning against the bathtub wall, trying to hold myself together as I screamed again.

Gavin watched in horror until I sobbed again, and then he broke down crying.

He ran to me, and I wispered, "No." Barely audible, but he heard it. He froze, then grabbed another towel and wrapped it around me. I let out another scream, and this time, I looked down. My stomach was way bigger than last night. Every time I felt the unbearable pain, it would grow another centimeter. It was already over twenty-six centimeters. I looked six months pregnant.

I looked at Gavin with terrified eyes, and he broke down and started talking.

"I'm so so sorry. I know this was wrong. I didn't think it would hurt!" He said, and I screamed in pain. "It just said it would speed up the process!"

"What are you talking about!" I said in a sob and screamed again.

He said he had a feeling I was pregnant because he forgot to use a condom during our very rough night. He didn't want me to get an abortion, so he bought something from a person riding the cruise. "He said that it would speed up the process and make the baby bigger, but it would be painless, and the baby would come easily. He said you'd be grateful." Gavin looked at me with terrified eyes, and my only thought was that I really was pregnant.

"Idiot!" I screamed. "I would never abort the baby!" I paused to scream in pain. "What if the baby comes out dead! What if this medicine makes the baby unable to live like a child or makes it crazy! What if I wasn't pregnant!" I yelled again in pain and clutched the bathtub.

"I'm so sorry!" He cried.

"You should be! If this baby dies, I will be furious. You better not have ruined my chance at being a mother. If you ruined my body, you're dead!" I cried and put my head back.

"We need to call emergency medical staff!" He yelled.

"No! If this baby is different, they will experiment on it." I let out a sharp scream and grabbed Gavins hand on instinct. I squeezed so hard he winced. I let go and grabbed the bathtub.

He reached out and offered his hand again, but I didn't take it. I wasn't even mad, surprisingly. It's probably because I didn't even know I was pregnant, and this would've saved me time I'd want to be with Gavin. In bed.

I looked down, and the baby bump was around forty centimeters.

"Gavin!" I yelled. "I'm, I'm scared!" I looked at him, then at the baby bump. "It's coming!"

Gavin stared at me with pain in his eyes. He was terrified and felt very guilty. He grabbed my hand, and I immediately untensed my hand. "I don't wanna hurt you." I screamed as the baby kicked and gripped Gavins' hand for my life. "I don't think it's going to be normal! It's strong!" I cried as I felt it kick again, and I sat up almost emidiantly.

"No, sit back down. It'll all be over soon." Gavin tried to keep me calm, but I was frantic. I was twenty-three, and I was definitely not mentally prepared for a child.

"I'm scared, Gavin. I'm scared!" I looked him in his eyes and wispered, "I don't wanna die. What if I die?"

His face crumpled, and he hugged me. Another contraction came, and I screamed into his shoulder, squeezing him.

I let go, and he got another towel.

I felt something I'd never felt before, and the baby ripped its way out, as I screamed the entire time. Gavin had one hand on my upper back and the other near the baby. I screamed in agony as the baby came, but it wasn't normal. I looked at it as it looked at me. "Oliver. His name is Oliver." He crawled like a demon and had no ambilical cord. It was fast, too. It practically flew out of the bathroom and scurried out the window.

That was the first time I met my baby, but it wasn't a baby that I would see very often.
