I stood up to let Calvin in, when Sylvia grabbed my hand. She had a look on her face no words could describe. She looks angry, and happy all at once. She looked like a maniac.
"What's wrong?" I asked, totally confused.
"I have a stomach bug so if you dont mind, can you two go somewhere else today?" Sylvia let go of my hand as she said it and she went to her room without another word.
I'd have to figure out what's happening with her later. I went to the door and opened it, to see Calvin smiling with a bouquet of paper roses.
"I made them during detention. I was so bored. Mr. Marlin wouldn't shut up about me not deserving you and how I'm just a puney man and you should have a 'real man'. Whatever that means." Calvin remarked as he gave me the roses.
I laughed and stepped into the hall. "Sylvia isn't feeling up to having guests over right now, so if it's okay with you, can we go outside?"
"Sure, I have just the spot."
A few minutes later we arrived behind the boys houses. The same spot where I had dragged him earlier.
"Come. Sit." He said, without moving to do so himself. He had a sheepish look in his eyes.
"Okay, are you okay?" I said, obeying.
"Yeah."
He laid down on the ground and pulled me close, forcing me to lay down as well. He pulled me close and whispered in my ear, "This is our spot now. This is the place where everything became alright."
I smiled and we stayed like that until dinner. We went to the dining hall hand in hand and faces red with embarrassment and excitement. After we ate we went back to our spot and laid back down.
We were facing each other when I said, "Is Sylvia gonna be a third wheel now? Since it's always been the three of us? She seemed pretty weird earlier."
Calvin got quiet for a moment before replying hesitantly, "Their's something you should know. Sylvia and I dated for around two months when I first came here. Right after me and you became friends, she started flirting with me, and when she asked me out I said yes, because I was lonely and she seamed alright. But then things started getting weird. She didn't want me to tell you, and she said it was our little secret. Well, long story short I caught her cheating on me with Rick. When I dumped her she wasn't very happy about it and wouldn't give up on pursuing me. I want you to know that I never liked her and I still don't. You are the only girl I have eyes for and Sylvia knows that, but that won't stop her from messing with you. She gets what she wants because of her dad's money, so she isn't used to being told no. I'm sorry if that messes things up, but I thought you should know before we get too serious. After all, she is your roommate."
"Wow." I replied, stunned.
"Yeah, I know and I'm sorry."
"No that's not what I meant. Wow. She cheated on you with Rick? Basketball team captain, popular with the ladies, already has Jesse as his girlfriend, Rick?"
"Yeah, that Rick." He replied, looking relieved.
I burst out laughing at the thought. "Sylvia is 4,11 on a good day. Rick is 6,4 on a bad day. They would never look good together. And she must have horrible taste to rather have Rick than have you." I covered my mouth, realizing what I had just said.
Calvin blushed, but gave a grin and asked, "What's so good about me?"
I turned to look at the sky. It was getting dark and the sun was setting. We didn't have to be at our dorms for another two or three hours, but it was getting a little cold.
"You are a guy. You have dark brown hair, clear skin, and the most gorgeous emerald eyes in the world. When you smile, everyone smiles with you because you are just that hot." I was blushing hard now but I didn't stop. "When you look at me, I feel like the only girl in the world. You hold my hand and I feel like I'm flying. You are the only guy in the entire school who will hang upside-down by his legs, out of a window, in his sleep. You're funny, and cute, and the only guy I would ever want to call my boyfriend."
He stayed quiet so I turned my head. He was blushing and staring at me in a daze. Then, he pulled me closer, and kissed me.
