Chapter 10 - The Blood Spear Pirates

[Pirate Crew: Blood Spear Pirates

Captain: "Blood Spear" Loggert (Lugart the Bloodspear)

Bounty: 69,000,000 Beli

(Note: After retreating from the Grand Line and abandoning deeper voyages, his bounty did not receive further increases)

Age: 42

Origin: Former royal guard of a war-torn nation in the West Blue

Pathological Aesthetic: Obsessed with "elegant slaughter." In battle, he deliberately controls his opponents' blood loss, allowing them to bleed out slowly.

Psych Profile: After suffering defeat in the Grand Line, he developed a deep hatred for the so-called "game of the strong," turning instead to bullying the weak as a form of self-numbing.]

"This is everything we've got on the Blood Spear Pirates."

Branch Commander Asahi gently slid a kraft-paper dossier across the desk, rubbing his hands together as his face split into an ingratiating smile.

"I had to call in favors from an old contact in the South Blue branch just to get this internal intel."

"Much appreciated."

Gern accepted the file and began reading.

"Even though Loggert's originally from the West Blue," Asahi leaned closer, the stench of cigars mixed with cheap cologne wafting over,

"he got greedy while serving as a royal guard in the South Blue. Murdered, looted, and then directly formed a pirate crew there."

Asahi jabbed a stubby finger at a red stamp on the file.

"See that mark? 'Extremely Dangerous.' That's from the South Blue Marines."

Gern skimmed through the report quickly, his eyes pausing briefly on keywords like Grand Line and sixty-nine million Beli.

As pages rustled, Asahi continued,

"In the South Blue, he hijacked seven merchant ships and wiped out two Marine outposts. Methods were… brutal."

"So after losing in the Grand Line, he runs back to the West Blue to play tyrant?"

Gern closed the file and let out a quiet breath.

Asahi's pudgy face turned serious. He leaned forward, the chair beneath him creaking under the strain.

"Gern, this Loggert isn't like the twenty-million-Beli trash you've dealt with before.

Anyone who managed to make a name for themselves in the first half of the Grand Line—

even if the bounty says sixty million, their real strength could be far higher."

Gern's fingers tapped lightly against the desk, the rhythm steady, like a countdown.

He understood perfectly.

In recorded history, Luffy's bounty after defeating Arlong was only thirty million.

Marine bounties were never a pure measure of strength—but they were never wildly wrong either.

"Don't worry, Branch Commander."

Gern stood up, sunlight filtering through the blinds and striping his face in shadow.

"I value my life."

"Good! That's good!"

Asahi hurried to his feet as well, his stomach bumping into the desk without him even noticing.

"Once you reach Marine Headquarters, the enemies you face will all be true monsters…"

Before he could continue, hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor, followed by a sharp knock and an urgent report.

The office door burst open.

Asahi's adjutant rushed in, face pale, gripping a fresh report.

"Report, Branch Commander!"

"West Blue—Arsetti Kingdom. Ashen Port is under attack by the Blood Spear Pirates!

Local militias are requesting immediate Marine support!"

Asahi froze, then his expression twisted in shock.

"So soon? The intel said they were still operating near the South Blue!"

"They've clearly changed course," the adjutant replied.

"Bang!"

Asahi slammed his fist onto the desk, his face darkening instantly.

"Those damned animals! They barely crawl back from the Grand Line and immediately start rampaging in my territory!"

Beside him, Gern's eyes sharpened as he looked down at the dossier Asahi had just given him.

"Branch Commander, please issue orders!" the adjutant urged.

Asahi clenched his teeth, about to speak—

—but Gern had already stood up and was walking toward the door.

"Hey! Gern?" Asahi blinked. "What are you doing?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Gern replied without turning back.

"I'm heading to support Ashen Port."

"Wait!" Asahi rushed after him.

"Didn't I just tell you? The Blood Spear Pirates aren't ordinary pirates!

They're far stronger than the trash you've dealt with before!"

"And didn't you say you value your life—"

Gern stopped. He tilted his head slightly.

"When I said I value my life…"

A chilling grin spread across his face.

"I meant that those blind idiots should treasure their lives when they run into me—

not that I'm afraid to risk my own."

The pressure in Gern's gaze froze Asahi in place, words caught in his throat.

"Oh, right."

Gern reached the door, hand resting on the handle, then paused.

"Thanks for the intel."

Asahi waved his hands frantically, almost flattered.

"Of course! Of course! Our Branch 133 is counting on you—"

The door closed, cutting off his flattery mid-sentence.

Asahi stood there for a moment, then suddenly snapped back to his senses and grabbed the Den Den Mushi on his desk.

"Get the best supplies ready! Ensign Gern is heading out to sea—now!"

In the corridor, Gern's pace quickened, turning into a near sprint.

Only one thought filled his mind:

I have to reach Ashen Port as fast as possible.

"Ensign Gern!"

Several Marines snapped to attention as they saw him rushing past.

"Immediately assemble a squad and prepare a warship!" Gern barked.

"Ashen Port is under attack. We depart in ten minutes!"

No one dared hesitate. The soldiers moved at once.

Gern returned to his room, seized the black blade Eight Desolations from the desk, and secured it firmly on his back.

He drew in a deep breath, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

"Blood Spear Pirates…"

Ten minutes later, a Marine warship departed from Branch 133's harbor at full speed, cutting straight toward Ashen Port.

Gern stood at the bow. Sea wind brushed against his face as his gaze fixed on the distant horizon, his thoughts already racing ahead.

The Blood Spear Pirates were only one step in his plan.

The real challenges lay beyond—

Marine Headquarters.

The monsters of the New World.

And the Haki he had yet to awaken.

"Soon…" he murmured.

A faint cluster of vibration particles formed in his palm—then dispersed instantly.

"Ensign, we estimate arrival at Ashen Port in two hours," a Marine reported.

Gern nodded.

"Notify everyone. Prepare for combat."

"This time, we're facing bloodthirsty pirates.

Show no mercy."

"Yes, sir!"

As the soldier departed, Gern spoke the name softly, killing intent sharpening his eyes.

"Blood Spear Loggert… my final stepping stone."

"Your head is the tribute I'll use to enter Marine Headquarters."
