Morning.
Early sunlight filtered through sparse leaves, casting scattered golden patches across the simple bedroom and driving away the last of the gloom.
"Achoo!"
The sudden sneeze shattered the quiet. A silver-haired figure sprawled across the center of the bed lazily swished his thick, scaled tail, then slowly lifted his head from the soft, fragrant pillow. With sleep still clinging to his eyes, he blinked awake.
"I've got this feeling… like someone's got their eyes on me…"
That chill that had risen in his dreams instantly reminded him of the time Ch'en Hui-chieh had caught him when he was out shopping with Exusiai.
It's definitely Texas and Exusiai again—using me as fantasy fuel or something.
Saying it out loud made him sound self-important and cringe, but honestly, those girls really would do something like that.
If it were any other guy, he'd probably be disgusted and cut them off on the spot. Chen Mo, on the other hand, found it kind of entertaining—and didn't really mind.
If he hadn't gotten spooked by the Swire incident, afraid he'd tease her too far and end up with a fire he couldn't put out, he would've already called them up to ask exactly how they'd been fantasizing about him, and what "positions" they'd been imagining.
"Ha… another boring day."
Yawning and wiping the tears from the corner of his eye, Chen Mo sat up on the pristine white bed, stared blankly around the room, and drifted for a moment.
Empty. Minimal. Almost austere.
Aside from basic furniture, there wasn't a single extra decoration—completely different from the cute, pastel-pink bedroom Ch'en had arranged for him.
Knock, knock.
The sound of rapping at the door rang out, followed by a voice that was mild in tone yet sharp around the edges.
"Brother. Even if it's a day off, you can't be this lazy. Get up."
Living in his little sister's home clearly wasn't all upside. At the very least, sleeping in was no longer an option.
Chen Mo glanced at the closed door, scratched his messy hair, and answered lazily, "Yeah, yeah. I'm coming."
Then he hopped out of bed and, in the blink of an eye, flung the door open with a grin.
"I've been dying to try your cooking, little sis. Come on—move it, move it. You cut my monthly budget down to three thousand LMD. The least you can do is take responsibility for three meals a day."
Still half-dressed, the Draco planted himself at the dining table, eyes bright with anticipation as he looked at Ch'en.
Ch'en Hui-chieh took one look at the alluring skin her brother was casually showing and immediately turned her head away.
"Brother… I'm glad you trust me, but you still need to show some restraint."
Restraint, my ass. He was doing it on purpose. If he didn't make her uncomfortable, how was he supposed to pressure this stubborn little dragon into giving in?
Chen Mo put on an exaggerated look of realization, tugged at his sleepwear as if to "fix" it, then waved it off as though it were nothing.
"It's fine. You're my sister. I'm giving you a little benefit—why wouldn't you be happy?"
"…I can only mourn the fact that I have a shameless brother."
Even as she said it, her face had grown noticeably unnatural. She stepped forward, eyes darting, and dragged Chen Mo to the full-length mirror in the living room.
"And I've told you countless times—men should pay attention to grooming. Be reserved and proper. Don't—"
"Be reckless and shameless and uninhibited, yeah, yeah. You've said that about a million times. Aren't you tired of it?"
Ch'en pressed her brother down onto the seat before the mirror and sighed.
"Then at least listen once. You know everything I do is for your—"
"Give my salary back and I'll listen."
Ch'en's eyebrow lifted. She didn't respond—just silently began smoothing and arranging his silver hair.
There was no chance she was returning that salary. Her brother thought freeloading at her place would force her into compromise.
In reality, it was exactly what she wanted.
This way, Chen Mo didn't just rely on her financially—any "unserious, idle troublemakers" who wanted to get close to him would have to think carefully about how sharp her Chi Xiao really was.
Especially Texas and Exusiai.
Ch'en was still planning to settle accounts with those two.
The thought made her unable to suppress the flicker of delight in her chest, and the corner of her lips curved ever so slightly. Her hands, working through his hair, grew even gentler.
After giving Chen Mo her bedroom and sleeping on the couch all night, she hadn't slept well—but this kind of sibling closeness wasn't bad at all.
"Your phone's ringing, Ch'en," Chen Mo said.
…Annoying.
The interruption to this rare moment immediately made Ch'en frown. Still, she didn't say more. After finishing his hair, she picked up the phone and sat on the sofa.
"This is Ch'en. Speak."
"Damned dragon! Where's Chen Mo?! Where is he?! He's not at home!"
The shout on the other end made Ch'en expressionlessly pull the phone away from her ear. Only after the other party calmed down slightly did she respond.
"You're trying to ask my brother out again today?"
"Of course!" The voice was brash, proud, and utterly unyielding. "I'm Beatrix Swire. I'm not the kind of woman who backs down that easily!"
The sheer swagger traveled through the phone, and Ch'en could practically picture Swire with her hands on her hips, tiger fangs showing as she laughed arrogantly.
Ch'en's eyes narrowed faintly.
"Brother," she called, "come here."
"Hm? What's up?"
Chen Mo, who had been preening in the mirror and swishing his tail like a show-off, trotted over without hesitation and pressed in close, peering curiously at her.
"What, Ch'en—are you going to let me go on a date with Swire? I mean, I'm not opposed."
Swire was loaded. Going out with her meant he didn't have to worry about money.
If Chen Mo had been truly shameless—and if he didn't feel a tiny bit guilty knowing that, for now, Swire was still just a "friend"—he would've already moved into her place and started spending like a king.
But Ch'en Hui-chieh wasn't that generous.
She placed the phone down on the long table in front of her, propped it at a good angle, then patted her thigh.
"Aren't you always protective of your tail? I'll clean it for you."
So proactive? And now she wasn't lecturing him about "appropriate distance" between men and women?
Chen Mo glanced at the phone that was still on the line and instantly understood.
"Mm… I didn't realize you could be this devious, Ch'en."
He chuckled and complied anyway.
"Fine. You're my sister. If it were Exusiai or Texas, I wouldn't do it."
"And hey—don't forget to raise my allowance afterward, yeah? Seriously. Don't 'accidentally' forget."
With that, he flopped down with an audible thump, laying his head neatly on Ch'en's lap.
His massive dragon tail slid into her hands.
And Chen Mo, no longer caring about her little scheme, hummed to himself and pulled out his own phone to play games.
Ch'en placed her palm on the smooth, scaled tail, then calmly switched the call to video.
Beep—
Swire's face—beautifully made up, immaculately dressed—appeared on screen at once, her expression already irritated.
"You damned—why have you been silent for so long, you—"
Her furious interrogation stopped dead.
On Swire's end, the moment she truly saw what was happening on the other side of the screen, her face drained into sheer horror.
"You—YOU [EXPLETIVE]—WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"
The silver-haired Draco she'd been obsessing over—the "match" who had kept her up for nights, the man she'd been using as her private fantasy material—
Was lying perfectly obedient on that damned dragon's lap.
And the tail she'd been craving for days… was swaying freely in Ch'en Hui-chieh's hands.
