Chapter 20 - 31

There were potholes and splatters of slate grey liquid everywhere, and the air was filled with pungent smoke. The twenty-five stained mechas resembled sculptures. Some were laying down, half kneeling, or leaning against the strange stone behind them.

The scene was silent. If someone who didn't know what had occurred were to see them, they would think this uncomfortable place was a mecha graveyard.

But, of course, how could there be a mecha graveyard here?!

A mecha, which had been lying on the ground, seemed to spasm and then very quickly jumped up. Then, it put its hands on its sides and looked up towards the sky. A very pleased voice could be heard through the public channel.

"Wow, haha! This master is just fantastic! Killing two hundred Spider Zergs and not even chickens and dogs were spared!"

The one acting all proud in the public channel, making others want to throttle him, was Haney, from Wu Zimo's team. If everyone wasn't exhausted, both physically and spiritually, due to the battle, they would have definitely taught him a good lesson. How dare he call himself a master like this? Especially in front of their senior, Mocca.

"How is everyone doing?" Wu Zimo asked the others in the public channel, disregarding the happily laughing away Haney.

The battle that had just happened made Wu Zimo, a die-hard otaku, feel a pounding and difficult-to-suppress excitement. There wasn't a single man who didn't carry a delusion of being an accomplished commander. However, most of them would be hit by reality or become saddened by their own physical problems.

Wu Zimo was the latter, but that didn't stop him from moving unhindered within the networks of the internet, becoming the king of the virtual world.

"Lyle, you're okay?"

Salah's mecha also contained the master-sub system. When Salah erupted in the previous battle, Lyle, an ordinary person, had to directly face an erupting sentinel, which wasn't very good for him. However, the battle they were just in had left Salah with no other choice.

However, when Wu Zimo opened up Salah's screen, he could see that Salah's cold-blooded snake was unexpectedly wrapped around Lyle's neck. From time to time, it flicked out its snake tongue and licked Lyle's cheek.

"..."

He could be angry too! Salah, you iceberg, tsundere man, you dare to regularly eat Lyle's tofu just because he wasn't able to see your cold-blooded snake!

However, no matter how crazily Wu Zimo was flipping tables, he had to pretend to have not noticed anything; he had to ignore the cold-blooded snake's tofu-eating behavior, and questioned Lyle with a worried expression.

As for which one was more important, a little chrysanthemum or a little comrade — Great God Mo refused to answer!

Lyle's complexion was a little pale, but from what Wu Zimo could see on the screen, he seemed to be alright. "I'm fine." Lyle shook his head at the worried Wu Zimo, then turned to look at Salah, "Salah, how are you?"

The last battle, compared to what he had experienced in the past few days, made Lyle even more aware of the sentinels' formidable fighting strength as well as the danger they were in.

They were only dealing with Spiders Zergs on Planet XT781, the lowest level of Dimensional Zergs. However, in the interstellar universe, there were even more powerful and countless number of Dimensional Zergs.

Lyle knew that those frightening Dimensional Zergs would be the enemies that Salah and the others would need to personally face in the future.

Salah leaned back against his seat, his back already soaked in sweat and his hair plastered to his forehead. He was panting hard, and his face was a bit pale, but his gaze was full of a passionate glow.

Hearing Lyle's worried inquiry, Salah took a deep breath and pressed down the agitation in his heart. His gaze softened, and he turned towards Lyle, shaking his head.

The pair looked at each other; the atmosphere between them was something that outsiders couldn't interrupt.

Wu Zimo silently shut down the communications over Lyle's side, and opened channels with others', especially the other user of the master-sub system and asked how they were feeling.

When he had seen Millo's beautiful heroism while activating the master-sub system, he had also excitedly shouted, "Queen!". Fortunately, he hadn't shouted out the name of the East's founder. There was no one in his generation who could top Wu Zimo's boldness when he shouted for that elder sister.

Everyone quickly summed up the situation. Generally speaking, it turned out pretty well. Especially since as rookies, they had managed to exterminate two hundred Spider Zergs. However, they had also received a fair amount of damage.

Since Mocca's mecha had used the speed system when he was acting as bait, he couldn't join the battle. Later however, in order to rescue Salah, he had had no choice but to drag his damaged mecha to join the battle. Their inspection showed an arm and a leg of his mecha would need to be remade.

The others weren't spared. Truthfully, the most intact mecha was Wu Zimo and Bit's. As for the reason? Wu Zimo shrugged. He was an ordinary person, not a pilot. So how could he know, right?

In his spiritual world, there was currently a meng-selling egg gleefully rolling around. How could Wu Zimo possibly show it?

"In the future, I can't call for Ares, this meng-selling egg that only knows how to sell meng."

Ares, who was in the spiritual world, was happily rolling around on the grass because it had just been held high by its master. The expression on its face remained a (≧▽≦).

Spiritual energy was prevalent throughout the spiritual world. Seeing the egg roll around the grass, Wu Zimo pondered but still couldn't understand. Why did an egg like to roll around so much?

Wu Zimo made certain that everyone had just exhausted their spiritual strength. There weren't any injuries, and his heart finally calmed down.

He had proposed this course of action. Disregarding the appearance of having an ace up his sleeve, Wu Zimo was also worried about accidents. He truly did not want to see his fellow students getting injured.

However, looking back on it now, their plan was perfect, their comrades didn't have any problems, and in the end, they even managed to pull it off.

"First, let's leave this place and find an area to patch things up. It's almost time for the end of the academic assessment."

Wu Zimo smiled at everyone as he spoke. He had been observing the monitoring system and ensured that no other Dimensional Zergs had received signals from this group of Dimensional Zerg and rushed to rescue them. However, this wasn't a suitable environment for them to rest in.

They needed to get far away from the large pit that had resulted from the explosion of the thirty-eight photon artillery shells. Recalling the exceedingly large mushroom cloud, Wu Zimo, only now came into the state of mind of being awed that he had really made such a huge spectacle.

When others heard Wu Zimo's words, they nodded in approval. There were a few mechas with problems in their legs, and it was difficult for them to walk and they had to assist one another. Twenty-five mechas staggered away from the smoke-filled battlefield.

In the area where it seemed like there was only exposed slate grey rock, the space suddenly twisted. The originally slate grey wall of rock unexpectedly turned into three black mechas.

"Captain, those students have left."

Team 007's leader nodded and reported the situation to Da Li and the others up in the monitoring room in space. Actually, they didn't need the captain's report. They had clearly seen the entirety of Wu Zimo and others' battle from start to finish from the monitoring insects.

"These youngsters really can't be underestimated." Seeing Wu Zimo and the others leave the battlefield, Da Li couldn't help but sigh, "I've troubled you this time."

Team 007 didn't have a chance to act, though they really had been hidden away the entire time in order to guard against sudden dangers.

"Colonel, this is our duty." The captain saluted Da Li and broke off communications.

Da Li looked at the blank screen, then solemnly asked Lao Yu, who was next to him: "Lao Yu, what can you determine about Wu Zimo's master-sub system?"

From the moment they knew about the existence of the master-sub system, Da Li and his team were even more attentive while observing Wu Zimo team's battles. Sure enough, they had discovered many important and crucial problems. If those problems had arisen from the master-sub system, then it absolutely wasn't an ordinary system.

Lao Yu didn't immediately answer Da Li, but furrowed his brows, muttering something. When Da Li discovered that Lao Yu seemed to not have heard his question, he had no choice but to reach out to tap him.

Da Li saw Lao Yu finally return to his senses and helplessly repeated his question.

Da Li's question forced Lao Yu to show a forced smile, "I understand a little bit, but there's even more that I don't understand." It was just that there was no code to compare it to. He truly couldn't understand!

"But Captain, we must fight for this Wu Zimo!"

Although he couldn't understand it, it didn't stop Lao Yu from understanding the system's power. He only had to look at the shining expressions in his other teammates' eyes to understand.

When Da Li heard this, he didn't know if he should force a smile; Wu Zimo, this demon. Even if he wanted to fight for Wu Zimo, he wouldn't be able to win him over. He could see from Major General Rocard's attitude that Wu Zimo would be snatched up by the Major General.

Da Li thought about how it was clearly him who had noticed Wu Zimo, this unpolished gem, but it was the Major General who had intercepted him in the end. Thinking about it made him melancholy.

The sulking Da Li raised his hand to smack the back of Xiao Ba's head. The pitiful Xiao Ba, who still had a flattering smile on his face was just smacked by his boss.

Dou E wouldn't have been as aggrieved as he was now. His captain had completely taken out his anger on him.

Da Li coughed and corrected his mood. He told the team members who were looking expectantly at him: "Naturally, there will be someone to arrange the matter regarding Wu Zimo."

So, even if he took the initiative, it would be of no use!

Wu Zimo was still on Planet XT781 and didn't know the question of who he was interning with had almost caused internal strife. They found a suitable place far from the battlefield. The twenty-five mechas stopped, and everyone jumped down from their mechas.

Before he jumped off the mecha, Wu Zimo checked his light brain for the time. "It's almost time." Sure enough, just as Wu Zimo finished speaking, everyone raised their heads towards the sky. A large black battleship pushed through Planet XT781's atmosphere and slowly landed on the surface of the planet.

Hopefully our Wu Zimo gets to meet his Marshal again soon (੭ु´͈ ᐜ `͈)੭ु⁾⁾
