Nora's POV
I stare at the flames dancing across my palm, trying to understand the strange energy flowing through them. The fire feels both familiar and foreign, carrying an unsettling chill that seems to emanate from somewhere far away.
"Where else would I find fire like this?" I ask, watching the cold flames flicker between my fingers.
"Several places." Kevin tilts his head, studying the supernatural fire with intense concentration. "I need to investigate something." Without another word, he vanishes, leaving me alone in the living room with literal hellfire burning in my bare hand.
I wait several minutes, hoping he'll return quickly with answers. When he doesn't materialize, I sigh and extinguish the flames before settling into Kevin's abandoned spot on the couch. The coffee table is covered with open books, and I resist the urge to close them or flip pages, knowing he might need to reference exactly where he left off.
