Nora's POV
"War was there," I say to Kevin, wondering if my desperate pleas from last night made any impression on him. "I encountered him on the astral plane. My magic couldn't touch him, but somehow he could influence people in our reality."
Kevin's expression grows thoughtful. "You would need to channel your power to that same dimensional layer. Though I suspect this won't remain a problem much longer." His frown deepens. "They're preparing to cross into our world. We need to be ready."
"Nora won't be preparing for anything," James cuts in, his deep voice commanding the room's attention. "She's carrying our child and just got out of the hospital. Your winged allies need to handle their responsibilities."
"I completely agree," Kevin responds, catching James off guard. He'd been bracing for pushback. "However, I'll require her assistance with the amulet preparation."
"You located all the fragments?"
