The kitchen had always felt like a frozen wasteland in our house.
How could it be otherwise?
No matter what elaborate meals we arranged across the granite surfaces, no matter how many pastries emerged from that industrial oven or how high we cranked the thermostat, this space remained frigid.
Jonathan was the reason.
This room reflected his essence perfectly - brushed steel cabinets, central island, every appliance gleaming with surgical precision. Everything constructed from immaculate stainless steel, each surface reflecting light like razor blades, creating an atmosphere that felt sterile and unwelcoming.
But tonight, nothing about this kitchen felt sterile or frozen anymore.
