Chapter 110 - Chapter 110 What's it like to be a superhero?

Chapter 110 What's it like to be a superhero?

Finney Hellseg was speechless and too lazy to explain to these two. Let them think what they want; if things really got out of control, they'd need his help anyway, and he could let them know then.

Finney then urged Banner to quickly call Hulk out, and the two went to a secluded mountain to fight.

The final result was a draw. Finney was so exhausted that even his use of the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' was somewhat unsatisfactory.

This outcome unhappy both of them. Finney was unhappy because he hadn't won and gained less experience, while Hulk was unhappy because he had never won before.

After fighting for months, even a battle maniac like Hulk couldn't stand losing all the time, so recently he accumulated anger exceptionally quickly, making it difficult for Finney to gauge his strength.

After saying goodbye to Hulk, Finney hurriedly arrived at Kamar-Taj. His days were now packed; in addition to attending school during the day, he also secretly researched the Mirror Space.

If school ended early, Finney would either help Skye research the use of her abilities or go out to practice her skills alone, then fight Tony or the Hulk in the evening before returning to Kamar-Taj for further training.

Only after finishing her training at Kamar-Taj did Finney return home, brimming with experience.

Seeing Finney always looking exhausted from leaving early and returning late, Skye looked at her with concern and couldn't help but ask, "Finney, what have you been up to lately?"

"Nothing much, just encountered a magical problem that's difficult to understand."

Finney didn't tell Skye about the Black Panther goddess Buster. She had told Tony and Banner because she might need their help and wanted them to prepare.

But for Skye, there was no need. Although her abilities, when used at full power, were terrifying, she didn't want her involved unless absolutely necessary.

Skye didn't suspect anything, but she felt somewhat powerless in this regard.

She couldn't even cultivate the magic of Kamar-Taj, let alone help with it, so she could only comfort her, "Don't worry, take your time."

"Yeah, it's getting late, you should get some rest."

Finney yawned; the daily research and battles had left him mentally and physically exhausted.

  "Goodnight!"

Skye said goodnight and returned to her room. After a silent sigh, she went to the kitchen to get something to eat. She didn't have to go to work or go to the bathroom every day, so she always ate and slept well before getting up, and now she couldn't sleep at all.

Opening the refrigerator, she found that the food and drinks stored inside were almost gone.

Perhaps because Finney had recently told her that she could try using her abilities to lose weight, she had been recklessly consuming a lot of food.

Turning her head to look at the clock on the wall, she found that it was only a little past ten o'clock. Skye thought for a moment, then changed her clothes and prepared to go to the convenience store to buy some more things.

Arriving at a nearby supermarket, it was already close to midnight, and the supermarket was almost empty.

Skye happily filled her shopping cart with snacks.

But just as she was about to pay at the counter, a masked man rushed in from outside, and most importantly, he was holding a gun.

  "Bang!"

The masked man fired a shot into the air without a word, then pointed the gun at the cashier and shouted rapidly, "Give me the money, hurry up, give me the money!"

The cashier was stunned by the gunshot, and only after the man urged her two or three times did she react, trembling as she opened the machine and slowly took the money out.

Not far away, Skye watched all this without fear. Perhaps it was because she had experienced it before, or perhaps her current strength gave her confidence.

At this moment, Skye unexpectedly felt a sense of nostalgia.

Back then, it seemed that two people had also broken into her store with guns, trying to rob her, but they were eventually subdued by Finney, and those two guns were still hidden in some corner of the store.

It was because of that incident that she discovered Finney Hellseg's special nature, realized just how strange this world truly was, and even became one of those who made the world even stranger.

Looking at the cashier with a gun pointed at her, Skye thought of herself back then. Although she wanted to help her, she glanced at the security camera above her head and considered the potential trouble she might cause Finney, ultimately deciding to refrain from acting.

The robber was quite professional; he left quickly after getting the money and didn't harm anyone.

But Skye felt a strange pang of guilt looking at the female clerk crying sadly behind the counter. If she had helped, things wouldn't have turned out this way.

Skye went over to comfort her and then paid double for everything she bought.

But this didn't lessen her guilt much. At that moment, she suddenly wondered if her ability was really only for saving her parents or for self-defense in dangerous situations!

Leaving the supermarket with her purchases, Skye walked slowly, wanting to go back and ask Finney if he had any doubts about her use of her ability.

But before she even reached home, a figure suddenly emerged from a nearby alley and called out to her.

  "Stop! Hand over your money!"

  "It's you!"

Skye recognized the familiar voice and realized it was the same guy who had robbed the supermarket earlier. He hadn't gone far and was still robbing people nearby.

The robber didn't recognize Skye. Seeing her act as if she knew him, he was momentarily puzzled, but then pointed his gun at her and said menacingly, "Stop talking nonsense. If you don't want to die, hand over all your money, now!"

Being held at gunpoint for the second time, Skye wasn't afraid, but rather felt incredibly angry. She was already feeling guilty about what had just happened, and now that the robber had come to her again, she couldn't suppress her rage.

Quietly activating the 'silver light' on her wrist, Skye put down the bag she was carrying and asked in a low voice, "Why do you do this? Wouldn't it be better to find a job and earn money?"

Seeing that Skye wasn't afraid and was even lecturing him, the robber paused, a strange feeling rising within him. He then raised his gun again and cursed, "This is my job. Don't force me to shoot. Hand over the money now."

"Sorry, I won't give my money to anyone again!"

With that, Skye raised her arm, extended a finger, and lightly tapped it with her ability.

Several ripples appeared in the air.

Before the robber could even reply, he was sent flying through the air, crashing to the ground, his gun falling from his hand.

Before the attack, she was filled with rage, but afterwards, Skye felt a surge of nervousness, unsure of what to do next. She quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Finney's number.

A moment later, Finney Hellseg arrived at the scene. Seeing the unconscious robber on the ground and the worried Skye, he yawned and reassured her, "It's alright, just a fall, nothing serious. Are you planning to take him to the police station or tell him to forget about today?"

"Won't handing him over to the police expose us?"

Skye asked, surprised by Finney's words.

"It's fine. I've met a lot of people lately who can handle these kinds of small problems."

Although bothering the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. with this kind of thing was like using a cannon to kill a mosquito, Nick Fury assured her he would be happy to help.

"Let him forget about tonight, and from now on, work hard to find a job, earn money, and be a good person!"

Skye hesitated for a moment, feeling that handing him over to the police was less effective than letting Finney solve the problem directly. She added, "Oh, and make him return the money he robbed from the supermarket."

After saying this, Skye suddenly asked, "Finney, what's it like being a superhero?"
