Chapter 95 - Chapter 95 Deceiving Banner

  Chapter 95 Deceiving Banner

This situation was clearly abnormal. It was the first time Finney Hellseg had encountered a portal being forcibly closed, indicating that something was wrong with that place.

Fortunately, the opening had left him with coordinates, saving him from having to search for the place by chance again.

Although it could be opened again, Finney didn't act rashly. The place was obviously not normal, and he wouldn't do anything dangerous without being sure.

At least, he didn't feel safe without the Ancient One by his side.

Because of this accident, Finney was hesitant to try again, even though the chances of encountering this situation again were probably many times lower than winning the lottery.

However, when he arrived at Kamar-Taj the next day, intending to open the portal in front of the Ancient One, he unexpectedly found that he couldn't open it no matter what.

  "Why is this happening!"

Finney was completely baffled. It was as if a force was preventing him from exploring this place. This was the first time he had encountered such a situation.

He couldn't even pinpoint where the place was, nor could he ask the Ancient One to open it herself.

"You mean it's pitch black there? And you're trying to open a portal but it's blocking you?"

The Ancient One's gaze was thoughtful.

"Teacher, did I accidentally stumble into Dormammu's territory?"

Finney asked nervously. Since the Ancient One wouldn't question how he knew so much, he just asked directly.

  "No, not at all!"

The Ancient One shook her head. If Finney had truly entered Dormammu's dark dimension, she would have had an easier time dealing with him.

"However, that place is probably quite dangerous. You'd better be careful."

Finney secretly felt relieved; thankfully, he hadn't recklessly tried anything. For the Ancient One to say it was dangerous meant it must be extremely dangerous.

  "What exactly is that place?"

Finney couldn't help but ask curiously. Although he knew a lot about Marvel from the storyline in his previous life, there were still many unknowns.

"I can't be sure for now, and it might involve other people's family matters, so I can't say."

Gu Yi shook her head, not explaining much, which only made Finney more curious.

But Gu Yi's tight-lipped nature was unmatched; if she didn't want to talk, there was basically nothing that could force her to compromise.

Back at school, Carson Brian was still pestering him about the Divine Punishment Knight, making Finney almost want to shove a table in his mouth to shut him up.

If it weren't for the fact that summer vacation was approaching, he would have taken some measures.

  Summer vacation arrived as scheduled.

Finney finally breathed a sigh of relief, but Carson was still persistent, still bothering him on the first day of vacation.

"Finny, for the sake of our years of friendship, please take me to see the Divine Punishment Knight. I just want to see him up close, even if we don't say a word."

"Shut up! We've only known each other for less than two years."

Finney glared at Carson. He was practically glued to him; wasn't that close enough? He'd exchanged at least a thousand words in the last few days, let alone a single sentence.

"I already said, I really can't help you with this."

Finney looked at Carson helplessly. While his persistence was touching, it wouldn't be good if he actually met Carson as the Divine Punishment Knight.

First, it might cause unnecessary trouble for both of them; second, it might make Carson even more demanding.

So it was better to refuse from the start.

Seeing Finny's firm attitude, Carson finally gave up. He gave Finney a resentful look, but didn't hold any grudges. After all, he secretly suspected that Finney's relationship with the Divine Punishment Knight wasn't that good, certainly not to the point where he could just casually invite him.      Having gotten rid of the annoying Carson, Finney finally felt much more relaxed, and the arrival of the holiday further lifted his spirits.

Thinking about Banner gradually adapting to life at the villa, Finney decided to expedite the Hulk training schedule.

Surprisingly, during this time, Banner and Tony had become quite good friends.

Perhaps it was Banner's easygoing nature, and Tony's recognition of Banner's talent, that allowed them to get along so well.

Arriving at Banner's villa, Tony was already there, and the two were discussing something. Judging from the holographic model projected on the computer, it seemed to be related to Stark Tower.

The tower had been badly damaged by Ivan and was currently being repaired day and night.

Finney didn't join their discussion, intending to sit and eat a chicken wrap while they finished, but as soon as he summoned the chicken wrap, the two stopped talking and came over, demanding to be fed.

So, the three of them sat together, drinking and eating chicken wraps.

  "What brings you here today?"

  Finney asked Tony.

"The building is preparing to activate a self-circulating supply system converted from new energy sources, and I'm discussing it with Bruce,"

  Tony replied.

  "Oh."

Finney wasn't interested in this, so he didn't press further. He glanced at Banner, who was quietly eating, and without regard for Tony's presence, said, "Dr. Banner, I'd like to talk to you about the Hulk."

Banner's expression changed slightly, but as Finney had expected, his comfortable life was something he didn't want to disrupt, so he had to answer the question: "What do you want to talk about?"

Tony watched the two of them curiously. Although he and Banner had become friends, it didn't diminish his curiosity about the Hulk, and he also trusted that Finney wouldn't bring up this question lightly.

"Destroying the Hulk is almost impossible, and I think you need to understand that first."

Finney first defined Banner's situation, then continued, "In my opinion, there are only two possible outcomes for you two: fusion or separation."

"Fusion would mean you become one, perhaps you can retain your mind and intelligence while possessing the Hulk's body and power."

"But it's also possible that the Hulk retains his mind and then possesses your body and power."

Hearing these two outcomes, Banner's expression changed drastically; clearly, he didn't want to accept either one.

  "Then what about separation!?"

Banner looked at Finney. Although he didn't believe it was impossible to destroy the Hulk, there really wasn't a way at the moment.

"Separation means you possess your body and intelligence, and the Hulk possesses the Hulk's body and mind!"

This scenario would undoubtedly be the most satisfying for Banner. If it could really be achieved, what difference would it make from destroying the Hulk? So he immediately asked nervously, "Have you found a way?"

  "I need your cooperation!"

Finney didn't have any real solutions, but that didn't stop him from calming Banner down first. Only by giving him hope could he get Banner to cooperate willingly.

Furthermore, he didn't actually deceive Banner. If possible, he did want to separate Hulk and Banner, but there was one thing he didn't make clear.

If they were to separate, it wouldn't be Hulk separating from Banner's body, but rather Banner separating from Banner's body, because he felt that the body, already mutated by gamma rays, was more suitable for Hulk.
