Chapter 45 - Chapter 45

Chapter 45 But I'm Still a Good Mage

As for dealing with Abomination before he mutates, that's equally difficult. He vaguely remembered that Abomination was originally an excellent soldier in the military.

Later, he was transferred by General Ross to arrest Dr. Banner. Initially, he was as confident as ever, but after being taught a lesson by the Hulk, he finally realized that humanity has its limits.

So he gritted his teeth and said, "Ross, I'm not human anymore!"

And that's how Abomination was born.

Finding such a soldier in the vast sea of people, Finney felt it was better to focus on finding one man.

In short, Finney had already given up on prematurely eliminating Abomination's birth, because it was far more difficult than Obadiah's plan. It was better to devise a solution directly.

As everyone knows, most people's mastery of magic is based on the same principles. With the Hulk and Abomination having high physical resistance, their magic resistance should obviously be low. Slapping their souls out of their bodies would definitely calm them down.

But the key problem is that he doesn't know this trick. Spells involving spirits are very profound; he can't even separate his own soul from his body, let alone use it to attack others.

Finney sighed melancholically at the textbook before him. If only he could be like Doctor Strange, with his talent maxed out.

Although he tried his best to modify his talent using the Golden Grand Technique every day, the results were minimal. Perhaps he didn't even have a concrete idea of what good talent was.

After a mundane day at school, Finney arrived at Kamar-Taj as usual in the evening for practice.

However, Mordo approached him shortly after.

  "You're the Silver Knight!"

Although Tony dominated the headlines, he and Obadiah had been involved. While he hadn't participated in the initial battle, he was present and photographed by reporters, even showcasing a teleportation technique at the end, stunning the world.

Because his identity wasn't exposed like Tony's, and his armor resembled that of a medieval knight, the media gave him the nickname Silver Knight.

  "Ahem!"

Upon hearing this nickname, Finney immediately looked uncomfortable. What a trashy title! If anyone should be called that, it should be Silver Mage! He's an arcane mage, okay?!

Even though he wears armor, fights in close combat, and isn't very good at magic, he's still a good mage!

  "What's wrong?"

Finney couldn't deny it. Everyone in Kamar-Taj knew what his possessed state was like, and with that teleportation ability, only he and the Ancient One carried a sling ring every day.

"How did you get involved with them?"

Mordo asked, frowning, with a hint of concern in his eyes. Kamar-Taj wasn't isolated from the world; there was internet, and many mages would go online to read the news in their spare time.

  "A little accident,"

Finney replied awkwardly, embarrassed to explain that he had once used teleportation to sneak into someone's house and been discovered.

  "Are you alright?"

Mordo glanced over Finney, making sure he didn't appear injured, before continuing, "Was that Tony Stark suit of Iron Man based on your armor?"

  "No, it wasn't."

Finney shook his head. Although Possessed did appear before the Mark I, there was no connection between the two, and Tony had no idea Possessed existed.

  "He developed it himself,"

Finney explained, then looked at Mordo and said, "I didn't expect you to be so up to date with current events."

  "I'm not a caveman!"

Mordo glared at him irritably, then said, "Now all of Kamar-Taj knows your name, the mysterious Silver Knight!"

Hearing this, Finney's head throbbed again. He forced a smile, then hesitated and said, "Do you think I should hold a press conference too and have them change the title to Silver Mage?"

  "Are you crazy!?"

Mordo was startled and glared at Finney, saying, "Do you want Kamar-Taj to be exposed?"

  "Uh, just kidding."

Seeing Mordo's angry expression, Finney stopped teasing him and reassured him, "Don't worry, I won't reveal Kamar-Taj's location, and Tony doesn't know either."

  "That's for the best."

Mordo gave him another warning glare, then hesitated for a moment before asking, "I saw in the video that you seemed to be able to fly?"

  "Hehe!"

Finney smiled smugly, immediately using his flying spell to float in mid-air, looking down at Mordo and saying, "From now on, you'll only be able to look up to me."

"When did you learn to fly?"

Mordo was shocked and extremely puzzled. He knew Finney's talent well; he was already surprised that Finney had learned to use portals in such a short time, and now he had learned to fly, and in a way he couldn't understand.

"You think I'm just an ordinary person?"

Finney rolled his eyes at Mordo after landing, explaining vaguely, "I have some other talents, otherwise my teacher wouldn't have specifically taken me as a disciple."

Mordo had secretly inquired about Finney's background, knowing that Finney had come through the New York Sanctum as the Ancient One's disciple, meaning Finney hadn't met the Ancient One in Kamar-Taj.

"What's so great about that? So much time has passed, and you've only learned a few Kamar-Taj spells!"

Mordo was incredibly envious, feeling a pang of jealousy. Although he also possessed the boots that allowed him to move faster in the air, nothing compared to the exhilaration of free flight.

Hearing Mordo's words, Finney was indeed somewhat annoyed. In fact, after a year, he seemed to have only successfully cast two spells.

One was the basic skill almost every mage knew, the Ring of Gorgador, and the other was a portal that could only be opened with the aid of the Golden Grandeur and the sling ring.

"By the way, do you know anything about spells related to spirits?"

  Finney asked Mordo.

The Ancient One's status was too high, and the title of Sorcerer Supreme was too imposing, so she rarely personally taught him during daily training, only occasionally supervising and pointing out mistakes.

Mordo usually did the teaching, which is why he knew many spells.

"You want to learn spells related to spirits!?"

Mordo frowned slightly, seemingly sensing something more, and warned, "Out-of-body experiences are extremely dangerous; even the slightest stimulus can cause immense damage to the spirit. Why do you want to learn such spells?"

Finney didn't know how to answer. Should he say he wanted to use them to deal with those two big guys, feeling their physical resistance was too high, and wanted to test magical effects?

"Look at you. Can't I learn more spells? Didn't you just complain that I didn't know enough spells!?"

  Finney replied, pouting.

"That needs to be done gradually. There are still many basic spells to learn!"

Mordo adopted the air of a training instructor, criticizing Finney. "Don't aim too high. You should practice basic spells more now. I'll help you choose some books later, so you can read them more."

Finney could feel Mordo's sincerity and felt a little embarrassed. Actually, he hadn't really intended to learn many spells.

When he came to Kamar-Taj, his initial goals were only two: a portal and the Mirror Dimension. His current desire to learn spirit spells was only to deal with Abomination.
