Third Person POV. -- 7th Of October -- 2415 --
[Tokyo Prefecture -- Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall]
Kie and Retsu, the duo of mother and daughter who decided to visit the mall all the way at Tokyo, in such a weather, all because Kie wanted to spend quality time with her daughter.
To Benihana Retsu, this is an unexplainable Impulsive action. Her mother doesn't do things like this just out of the blue. She nevertheless lets go of the topic, choosing to instead spend time with her like she promised.
As the duo are heading inside the super mall, they're able to see the place in all its three story level glory.
The mall is a three story massive building that slightly takes the shape of an 'L', many other buildings having been constructed around the mall. Buildings like parks, open grassy fields, and many other buildings for different purposes.
Inside the mall, when one enters, it would be from two different sides of its 'L' shape, with the shorter point being where Retsu and her mother entered from, that side being in front of the main street and having a parking lot besides it.
As the duo enter the mall, they can see that the crack ceiling that seperates the 'L' shape from the middle, it's open roof having been closed by a giant automatic glass, the glass being tick and having come out to cover this crack, not letting any rain fall down and into the main open street of the mall.
Inside of this L shaped mall, it is full of stores selling clothing of any kind that one may need. Be it sports clothing, normal outgoing wear, formal wear, and anything else.
They also have their electronics here in the main plaza as well. Selling anything one may need in their daily lives.
"Retsu, i was thinking of getting a new ball dress for the upcoming event your father and i will be visiting this coming month. " Kie says, she and her daughter walking through the first floor, the rain falling on top of them and hitting the glasses they are walking under.
"Oh? That fancy ceremony you and Father go to every year? Wasn't it at the start of new years that you guys would go? Why is it November this year? " Retsu asks, making Kie shrug,
"Don't know to be honest with you. The one who holds the ceremonies, Mister Yotsubashi doesn't often specify the timing.
Last year it was at the new year, and the one before that it got held at... I think it was at march? I don't quite remember honestly. " Kie says, making Retsu contemplate as the duo keeps on walking through the mall.
'Detnerat Company. It's CEO is Yotsubashi Rikiya, who in reality is the leader of the meta liberation army, codenamed Re-Destro. He was the leader until his position was taken by Shigaraki Tomura.
The company itself on the surface is one that's dedicated to the production of lifestyle support items, at least that's the surface facade that Re-Destro, as it's CEO has put forth.'
Kie's eyes get drawn to a store to the side, seeing many fancy dresses displayed on the windows. She points at it to Retsu, and gets a nod from the girl before the duo head that way.
'With the proliferation of Quirks, especially those that cause remarkable physical changes in people, the standardized system of mass production since the industrial revolution was no longer suitable. Given the situation, Detnerat emerged as a company specialized in the production of suitable articles and items for each and every individual customer, ensuring that they can provide them with highly adapted products in just three to four days. ' Retsu it seems, has done her homework.
The duo get to the store, Kie immediately starting on looking through the products, finding many fancy dresses that could prove to be nice for the upcoming occasion.
'Thanks to its techniques and systems, Detnerat has risen to the top of lifestyle support manufacturing companies in Japan. Making itself quite important among the corporstions that involve things like support or healing.
That is also the Reason why Mother knows of him and has visited some of the banquets that Yotsubashi has held in the past. '
Kie, amidst her choosings, suddenly turns to Retsu, "dear, do you want to come to the event this time? I'm sure you could learn a few things concerning the works we do.
It will be a huge help in your career as a doctor, –making connections and such, considering how big of a deal you've become the past few years. " Kie offers, leading to Retsu contemplating for a few seconds.
"Sure, I don't see why not. " Retsu agrees, getting a smile from Kie who begins by dragging her through the clothing sections too. "Perfect! Now that you've agreed to attend, you'll need a dress too. " She says,
Retsu internally though, has other ideas.
'Seeing a potential opponent and somone quite strong within this world's power scale could prove to be a nice move. Let's see how strong you are, Re-Destro. '
As the duo of mother and daughter are conversing, they suddenly hear shouts from outside the shop.
Retsu, curious goes to see what the commotion is about.
Once she's outside the shop entrance, she sees people looking up, so she follows their line of sight. "Is that!... " Her eyes slowly widen.
Kie comes out too, she looks up and also is left speechless.
The automatic glasses that come out in weathers like this, on top of it, there is water, a lot of it. It's gathering on the glass roof, slowly accumulating instead of sliding off.
"If this continues, the glass will eventually shatter, making all those gathered waters fall on the mall district itself. It will be a flood. " Retsu says, making Kie shake her head.
"But Why though? Who is doing this? " Kie questions, looking left and right to see if there is anyone suspicious who could be controlling the waters, but doesn't find anyone.
"It's probably the work of villains, they think that because All Might isn't here, they can do whatever it is they want. " Retsu says, before looking at her mom besides her.
"Mother, we need to get ou-" Before she can finish,
FWOOOOOOOSH!
The sound of a water wave is heard, as if a tide crashing on the rocks near the shore.
The entrance that the duo came in from, it has now been closed by a wall of thick water that reaches all the way to the ceiling!
All the way on the other side, the other big entrance is the same, closed up and trapping everyone inside the mall completely.
Retsu quickly deduces the situation, 'the villains are probably thinking that they could trap us here, waiting for until the flood on top of us is gathered enough, before it drowns eveyone in the facility by breaking from the top. ' she deduces, but what she can't understand is why they'd want to do something like this. What are their motives exactly?
Moments after her question, and it's answered by a loud voice that's coming from the entrance she and Kie came in from.
A man comes in, the gigantic wall of water having parted to let him walk in, and he looks inside the mall, at the people, no, at the heretics inside the place, all gathered near the entrance to try and flee before it was shut by the villain.
"You heretics! " There is so much venom in his voice, that it makes the gathered crowd take steps back. "You incarnations of the devil! CHOOSING TO WORSHIP A FALSE GOD!!!
I WILL CORRECT THIS MISTAKE! I-I WILL K-K-K-KILL YOU ALL!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! "
'oh great, one of those. ' Retsu thinks, her eyes on the villain.
She sees a man who has swampy green colored hair reaching all the way down his middle back, his face is bearded in the same color, looking like a homeless person with the way he is clothed, his entire clothing is damp with water, dripping water on to the floor where he is standing.
'Those eyes of his, ' Retsu looks at the visible Crazed Green pupils, and she sees him for the type of man he is. 'A fanatic. An extreme one by the looks of it. " Retsu concludes.
Some pro heroes who are trapped in the mall with the masses start stepping forward, the one at the front, –a person wearing a skin tight costume and a cape on his back, with the dominant colors on his costume being grey, and having a swirly face mask and a mist symbol on his chest.
His head is also a patch of grey mist, moving around like how mist would do, but doesn't evaporate away.
He steps forward, before pointing at the villain in front of him. "IS THIS YOUR DOING, VILLAIN? TAKING THE WHOLE MALL HOSTAGE! YOU ARE TRUE EVIL PERSONIFIED!
In The Name Of The Hero Misteye The Mist Hero, I WILL PERSONALLY EVAPORATE YOU AWAY! YOU SCOUNDREL! " he yells out, managing to get some of the civilians in the back riled up,
"Yeah!" "You go get him Misteye! " "Give the villain what he deserves! " The crowd starts yelling out, boosting the hero's ego, and making him smirk before he starts advancing towards his foe.
"Stop resisting! It is futile! " The ignorant hero yells out, and seeing that the Villain isn't moving, thinks that he must be scared,
–oh how wrong he is.
The moment the hero gets within a few feet of the villain, he is suddenly engulfed in a water sphere that spawns out of nowhere.
The transition is seamless, one moment Misteye was walking forward and nearing the villain, the next moment he is inside a water sphere, hovering over the ground and rapidly losing oxygen.
Retsu's eyes widen slightly, 'instantly? ' she questions, looking at the slowly drowning hero within the sphere.
The hero Misteye suddenly starts conjuring mist out of his body, from his hands and feet, but it can't help him, not anymore.
The water pressure is high, not letting the struggling hero out and making it harder for him to breathe as time passes.
Seeing this, the crowd starts panicking. Slowly they begin to step back, before a cry from a corner triggers their instincts, and they begin running back towards the center of the mall.
"Where the hell is All Might when you need him! " "All Might will be here any minute now! We just have to endure! " "IDIOTS! All Might is all the way at Kanagawa! Even HE won't be here in time! "
The panicking crowd starts running away, leaving behind the drowning hero along with his colleagues who are all too scared to move forward and help him.
"Dammit! My Quirk would be Useless against Liquid Water! " A man who has Bull horns and has a big physique yells out, his quirk giving him the strength of a bull along with some properties of the animal.
Similar scenarios are true with the other 3 pros standing by, letting their friend slowly drown by the villain.
Seeing this, Retsu takes a step forward, –before she is held by the wrist from behind.
Retsu looks back, and sees her mother's scared but determined look, "don't go, Retsu. Let the pro's handle this. " She says, her heart trembling in fear. Not the fear of a villain in front of her, but the fear of her daughter getting hurt.
Retsu nevertheless free's herself gently from her mother's grip, "Mother, there is no one else who will act. If i don't do something, that fool will drown. You and i both know that I'm the only one who can rescue him right now. " She says, making Kie give her a narrowed look,
Kie opens her mouth to protest more, but then she gets reminded of the past few years, about how her baby girl was strong enough to repel those other villains who would come after her.
Kie closes her mouth, lowering her hand and just saying, "be careful. "
Retsu gives a nod, before she starts walking forward, from her back she shoots blood towards her mother, the liquid moving around Kie before it lifts her up and starts moving her away, towards the center of the mall and away from the fight, 'she'll be safe there. '
Meanwhile, With the villain,
'I'm drowning! ' the hero thinks, his eyes wide in horror, having used his quirk to make the water blow away around him using his mist, but it's no use, his quirk isn't strong enough.
'Come on! Help me you guys! ' he looks at his colleagues behind him, but just sees them hanging behind, not coming forth to help at all, 'what the hell are they doing! I'M DYING HERE!!! '
Before the Pro Hero can think anything more, a crimson slash appears besides his makeshift prison, and slices the water bubble into two! Freeing the hero who falls on his ass and start breathing again.
He takes heavy deep breaths, before a shadow falls in front of him, making him look up to see a girl standing before him. "Go and help calm the civilians down. Take your colleagues with you. Gather everyone in the center of the plaza and wait for me. " Retsu orders, making the pro hero's brain short circuit,
"What a minute who are you! I don't recognize you, so what are you doing here! " He yells out the moment his throat is clear of water, making the girl in front of him sigh.
Retsu turns around, a serene smile on her lovely face, her eyes closed in a crescent shape, her lips taking a U shape, "do you understand what I'm telling you to do? " Her smile may be lovely, her voice more so, but the aura she starts giving off makes the Hero's spine straighten!
The hero gets on his feet in a matter of miliseconds, before he bolts away, running towards the heroes in the back to start doing what he is ordered to, completely forgetting that he is a pro.
Once the coast is clear, Retsu turns her gaze towards the villain in front of her, and she likes what she sees.
"A villain who can control water. Why aren't you famous by now for being able to control the element to this extend? " She asks, making the heavily breathing fanatic pause,
The villain's unfocused eyes turn to Retsu, his messed up mind finally registering the girl in front of him, "w-w-what the hell? W-w-where did you c-c-come from?... " He asks, stuttering a lot, –probably from the coldhe is experiencing with the water that's dripping from all over his form, or maybe because he is just messed up in the head, –Retsu is leaning on the latter option.
"I-it doesn't matter, you are still a heretic who follows that false g-g-godso you must be p-p-purged! "
The villain motions both his hand forward, the water wall behind him responding by shooting out a pressurized water beam, making Retsu leap to the side to dodge the beam that's the size of her whole body.
'There is no reason to converse with him. He has obviously lost it. And i heal physical wounds, not mental ones. ' Retsu concludes before she Augments herself fully and leaps again to dodge another water beam,
Once Retsu has found her footing a few feet away from the villain, she takes her stance.
Retsu brings her blood sword up, holding the handle of the blade with both her hands and bringing it besides her face, the tip aimed at her opponent, 'my current strength should be about 5% of my former self, –bar the kido techniques. Let us see how he will fair against me'
Retsu starts by sending blood slashes towards the villain, gauging his defense and looking for openings to exploit.
The villain responds by enveloping himself in a cocoon of pressurized water, tanking the weaker slashes before he reveals himself again,
"You Heretic! HOW DARE YOU HAVE THE SAME POWER TYPE AS MY GODDESS!!! " He yells out, Shooting thin pressurized water whips, –Their strength not being that high, but compensating that with their numbers and speed.
Retsu doesn't pay attention to the commentary, and instead she starts moving around very fast to avoid the whips,
'Hooo~ this is the first time ever I'm feeling like i should take the fight a little seriously. Not even that Nomu from back then was able to make me this serious. What a formidable ability this man has. The weather must be helping in his output too, '
Retsu thinks, before she sends many blood slashes by waving her sword arm around in very fast rotations, sacrificing their raw power for numbers, parrying the many water whips and making an opening appear in front of herself and the villain.
Retsu doesn't waste the opening. She plants her feet on the ground and, by concentrating on her augmentation on the sole of her feet, she suddenly makes the augmentation stronger in the moment of impact, vanishing from her spot, and appearing in front of the villain!
Shunpo!
Retsu has displayed her current limit of her redeveloped movement speed. In the eyes lf the villain, she vanished from sight for a millisecond, before appearing before his eyes without him being able to react. 'Too fast! What the hell!?! '
Retsu starts by bringing up her blade, slowly closing it towards her opponent's shoulder, 'I'm slowly running out of time. ' She thinks, a part of her focus being on the glass ceiling and the gathering water on top of it.
The blade connects, letting her draw the first blood in the fight before she has to shunpo away.
Moments after she appears on her current spot, the space in front of the villain gets flooded in a water bubble sphere, making Retsu tilt her head in realization.
'He's able to conjure water from the atmosphere itself,
That makes sense actually, considering that the air has moisture in it, and the current weather has made that moisture quite plenty too, allowing him to make so much liquid water right now.
He is in his Natural Habitat. ' Retsu thinks, before she shunpo's away again from her current spot, appearing in another corner to dodge the water projectiles.
'The fact that he's not trapping me in my current space tells me that he can't, meaning that he's able to trap people the closer they are to him. His range isn't good enough. '
"In that case... " Retsu readies her sword arm, before she vanishes again to get to a better position.
She appears in front of the villain a few feet away, holding her sword arm and twirling once before she sends an even stronger blood slash at her opponent, this one being way bigger, thicker, and stronger than the ones before.
'He is currently controlling a lot of moisture in the air, it definitely puts a strain on him.' The blood slash nears the villain, who conjures a water wall in front of himself, but the blood slash is able to pierce through before dissolving away, retsu not wanting to end it just yet.
'In a battle of attrition i win, but let's see if there are other ways to win too. ' Retsu Shunpo's from her current spot again, before appearing a few feet in front of the villain.
She throws out a slash before quickly backing away, the space she was in just now having its moisture compressed to make another water bubble prison.
The place she backs up to, a few feet away from the villain, once she is there the villain doesn't make the bubble prison in her space and instead shoots out water constructs at her.
'His range is pathetic. ' she readies herself, cutting a few constructs down and dodging the rest. 'This fight is slowly getting boring, plus the gathering water at the top of the mall is a time limit. I should end this quickly now. '
Retsu shunpo's in front of the villain again, and this time she slashes at him personally, wounding the villain with a diagonal cut that starts appearing as he falls back,
"AGHHHHH!!!" He yells out, his mouth fully open and his blood shot eyes slowly losing their pupils.
'His defense wasn't good, ' Retsu slowly makes her sword dissolve away, 'the weather made it so that he could influence a wider area, but without it he'd be a nobody, his quirk wouldn't be that formidable then. '
She turns her head away from the fallen villain, looking up to see the waters gathered at the top of the Mall all starting to wash away, having left some cracks on the glass ceiling though.
The liquid walls that had trapped the civilians within the mall also falls down, making quite a flood appear on the stairs of the entrance.
Retsu turns away from the fallen man, but not before she expells a little blood from herself and restrains him with it, also using the blood to start healing him.
A part of her mind on that, Retsu turns away and starts walking towards the middle of the mall, –but before she does she pauses in her tracks.
Retsu slowly turns around, looking down at the villain that her blood is healing, but also analyzing, and she learns of some foreign chemicals in his system.
'Trigger? This early? ' she questions, looking down at the unconscious villain, 'has he already started with his plans? ' Retsu questions,
The chemicals within the villain's system are heavily fortifying the muscles and organs that his quirk factor is influencing, leading to Retsu figuring out that it's trigger that's doing this.
'I've read about the drug, it's not that strong to be able to influence and boost a quirk that much, but the Villain here who's reach could encompass the whole mall building tells me otherwise. ' Retsu turns and begins walking towards the center of the mall, though her mind is elsewhere now.
'Trigger was originally created by scientists of different countries around the world, their goal being to make drugs in order to boost their countries' quirk abilities.
At the time, it turned out to not be that strong, the technology of that time not being able to manufacture drugs that could influence meta abilities that much,
At the start of Canon, we learn that Humarise, the company that's under Flect Turn, –the main antagonist from the movie World Heroes' Mission,
He was able to make stronger triggers using the technology of today, making the drugs strong enough to make quirks very strong. '
Yet another Movie that's real in this world. At this point, Retsu thinks that all the movies are canon here.
Retsu evantually gets to the center of the plaza, seeing many civilians and shop owners all gathered in the center of the place, the heroes i saw having gathered them there by the help of other heroes in this side of the mall.
Misteye, when he sees Retsu, quickly runs to her. "G- i mean Ma'am! Is everything okay now? Is the villain apprehended? " He asks, having by now learned of Retsu's identity, considering she isn't wearing her cap and mask anymore.
Kie runs to Retsu the moment she spots her, the blood Retsu left behind having dissolved to let the woman run to Retsu.
Once Kie is close, she lets her worries known, "What happened? Are you hurt Retsu? Ah I shouldn't have let you go! What the hell was I thinking?!? " Kie chides out, breathing heavily now and having drawn the attention of some of the civilians.
She doesn't care though, bringing Retsu into a fierce hug and not letting go, putting the girl's face on her chest and choking the poor girl.
–wish it was me- ahem!
Anyways! Some of the bystanders begin to recognize Retsu, leading to them starting to talk.
"Hey isn't she?... " "Yeah she is! " "THAT'S THE MIRACLE GIRL! "
They start yelling out, and slowly start advancing towards the girl.
"Hey she's the one who came last from where the villain started attacking! Don't tell me she's the one who took him down! " "HELL YEAH SHE DID! THAT'S AWSOME! " "SHE'S A HERO! " "HERO! HERO! HERO! HERO! "
The crowd starts chanting and getting closer, making Retsu, –who is now free of her mother's chest, turn to the pro hero besides her.
"Misteye was it right? Controll the crowd and call for the police to come apprehend the villain at the entrance. I'll leave the clean up to you.
Mother, let's go. " She takes hold of Kie's hand before start sprinting away, leaving behind a crowd who is chanting her name and a pro hero who's left dumbfounded. 'A kid saved me. This day couldn't get any more embarrassing, sighhhh. '
The pro hero turns around to start issuing the commands, calling the police and starting to make the crowd calm down.
Meanwhile with Retsu and Kie
The duo get to their car and Kie starts the engine, getting on the road and start driving away.
"Wait a minute! " Kie suddenly yells out, getting Retsu's attention, "We didn't shop anything at all! Agh those damn villains! "
"It's alright, let's just go to the mall back at Hinode" Retsu says, before she closes her eyes to get a nap. The confrontation having left even her a little tired
