Hello everyone,
This chapter is a Christmas special, but it's also something a bit more personal in terms of storytelling. For a long time, I've wanted to write a story that explores Ainz from a different angle—one that feels more intimate and grounded. Not a power upgrade, not an excuse to exaggerate abilities, but a pause within the narrative. A moment where Ainz, and more specifically Suzuki Satoru, can exist with a little more freedom.
I want to be very clear from the start: even though this story features Ainz with a human appearance, there will be no NSFW content, smut, or anything of that sort. When it comes to Ainz and Nazarick, I've always been far more interested in dynamics of trust, loyalty, and almost familial relationships—father and children, leader and followers—rather than romantic ones.
The tone of this story is intentionally more slice of life, while still remaining consistent with canon. Some of my favorite parts of Overlord are the moments where Ainz is allowed to interact with the world in a more relaxed and human way, such as in volume 10. That atmosphere is exactly what I aim to explore here, which is why I'll be using that volume's cover as the image for this project.
I hope you enjoy this special and the quieter perspective it offers.
