A few hours ago, Reggie and Andre were sitted in the lab. Andre was sitted on a metal bed, his shirt was taken off, leaving him bere chested. Reggie on the other hand was looking at a scanner that appeared to look like a television, the current state of Andre's internal organs "The doctor might have already told you this, but it doesn't look like you'll be taking food normally again, Andre.", Andre scoffed "I already knew that, you don't have to rub it in.". Reggie took a seat, his face serious "But seriously, you're lucky you're alive. Your heart took major burns from whatever stabbed you, not to mention your internal organs nearly melting. Like seriously, what can't you handle?", Reggie said to his friend. Andre scoffed again, he was looking at his burnt palm "Heh, beats me. I've been asking myself that question for a long time.", Andre looked at Reggie "You know, one of my younger cousins just died in the war. Kairo was his name, he was also a student of mine. His twin has been broken for days now, the entire Star family's depressed. Not just that, but my other younger cousin who's one of Laria's students, was almost killed a few days ago during her patrol mission as well.", Reggie took his time to think "Oh? You mean Gwen? Andre and Reggie kept quiet, as Reggie was sorting out a few things, he paused and asked "Andre, can I ask you something?", Andre looked confused "What is it?". I mean, I literally have a devastating amount of power no one in this current time can handle, except for a few people. Not just that, but I have more than enough power to completely wipe off anything I want gone from the planet. So why don't I just do anything?", Andre didn't reply. Reggie explained "Since way back, we've always been into this solider thing. We were literally kids of 12 to 13 when we first went on our first missions. As early as 4 years old, we've been trained to kill. Don't you think it's all a bit excessive.", Andre sighed and explained to Reggie "Look, don't go around having any ideas of changing the world, you'll fail. No matter how strong a person is, you can't change a system that's already agreed on. Just leave things the way they are.". Andre continued "You might not know this, but even when we end up fixing a part of the system, future generations would also have to face their own problems. No matter how peaceful an era is, a problem would always arise. It's just how the world works.", Reggie took his time to think. He blinked "Yeah, you're right.", he put a few things together before switching off the scanner "Let's just go outside and refresh our heads with air a little.". Currently, Andre, Reggie and Laria were sitted on a hill with the wind blowing on them. Laria took a deep breath out "You know, this kind of reminds me of our C-rank days. Usually we'd come here and just think of how it was even possible we survived the missions we partook in.". Reggie looked at her "I'm surprised you're even saying all this, you used to behave like missions weren't a problem.", Laria replied "Then again, we were kids raised to think of anything against Kagahara was the enemy, that's how people think. We defend what side we're on, it's just natural for humans to do so. That was something I understood at a young age even before I became a soldier. We kill for what we stand for, we fight when we're being oppressed for our desires. It doesn't matter, morality only exists to keep us In check just so we don't go off the rails.", Andre sighed "Damn it, we're only 22 years old. Why are we talking like we're old veterants In our 60's or something?", Reggie replied lazily "I know, right? It's funny because we might not even live till that age.". Laria quickly got annoyed "Will you stop saying that?!", Reggie replied jokingly "But it's true. Most soliders don't make it past 30. And even when you've reached that age, you're practically considered a walking trophy. Makes no sense.". Andre just sighed "You know, due to the injuries I've sustained, I can't use my lightning at full power anymore. Even trying to charge up a few sparks tires me out, I'm practically a walking liability.", Laria added "Well, yeah, you've always been one.", Andre felt a bit insulted "You don't have to say it like that.". Reggie laughed "Hahahaha!", Laria looked at him "What's gotten into you all of a sudden?", she asked. Reggie replied "Nah, it's nothing. I was just thinking of what Andre said, about us not being able to make it past 30. Either way, it's fine. That's the kind of life we automatically got ourselves signed up for.", he tilted his head to his wife and friend "It doesn't matter. It's the job for the one's who are still alive to keep on living and keep our legacies going. Right?", Andre and Laria smiled "Damn right, Berserker.". Andre teased "By the way, when's the new kid coming in? You both did agree on only having two kids, right?", Laria waved her hand "Probably a few years or something. Dealing with two kids who are roughly the same age is a pain, I rather have another kid after Sughi's like 12 or something.", Reggie just giggled "Right?". Four days passed by, Yuji was sitted on the big couch at the middle of the living room all by himself. His fingers were facing each other, his pupils looking rounder "It's quiet here.", he thought.
