Chapter 3 - Aegon Targaryen

283 A.D.

POV: Aegon Targaryen

Purple eyes opened slowly, reflecting a world they did not recognize.

Aegon felt a stab of confusion.

Wasn't he dead?

Where was he?

As his vision focused, he made out buildings of brick and stone, solid and alien shapes that belonged to none of his memories. He tried to move and, with an awkward effort, raised his hands in front of his face.

They were small. Too small.

Newborn hands.

Understanding fell upon him with the weight of an inevitable sentence: he had been reborn. And now he was nothing more than a baby.

He slowly turned his head, observing the room around him. The air was heavy with smoke. The walls were burning, gradually consumed by tongues of fire that climbed without mercy.

The bed on which he lay was enormous, made of dark iron, nearly three meters long, covered with purple silk sheets already faded by time and heat. Near him rested an amulet of gold and silver. Upon seeing it, Aegon felt a strange resonance, as if the object responded to his very existence.

Beside him lay a woman with black hair and dark eyes. Beautiful. Motionless.

My mother, he understood without the need for words.

She was not breathing. She looked asleep, but the stillness of her chest was final.

Next to her, a small girl cried inconsolably, clutching a black cat as if it were the last anchor to reality.

Aegon's mind worked with difficulty. His body was fragile, incomplete, and drowsiness dragged at him like a treacherous tide. Even so, he forced himself to remain conscious.

Then, the door burst open.

A colossal figure stormed into the room: a giant clad in steel, bearing an enormous shield and a sword that looked capable of splitting men in two.

Terror pierced him.

Without thinking, Aegon activated the amulet.

The world folded in on itself.

When the Mountain reached the bed, there was nothing left to find.

Only the lifeless body of Elia Martell… and a black cat watching in silence.

The place to which they were transported resembled a gigantic cave.

Aegon appeared between two enormous eggs, their surfaces rough and ancient. Not far from him, his sister looked around with disoriented eyes, unable to understand what had happened.

Upon seeing the eggs, a violent emotion shook Aegon's heart.

Ecstasy.

He already knew where he was.

He had reincarnated in the world of Game of Thrones.

And before him… two dragon eggs.

Luck seemed to be smiling upon him.

But the happiness lasted only an instant.

A deep growl echoed through the cave.

Aegon turned his gaze and saw an enormous creature: a rhinoceros covered in thick fur, charging straight toward them.

Panic threatened to consume him.

He breathed as best he could and focused.

He remembered the sensation of the amulet, the way it had torn space before. He tried to activate the talisman to teleport his sister and the eggs.

The amulet responded… but nothing happened.

The roar drew closer.

Closer.

Terror flooded him as he forced the talisman with all his will.

Cracks began to spread across the surface of the amulet.

When the beast was only centimeters away—

The talisman shattered.

And even so, it fulfilled its function.

As Oberyn Martell stepped out of a brothel alongside his lover, Ellaria Sand, a flash of light appeared in front of them.

Both instinctively reached for their weapons.

But they froze.

There, where there had been nothing but air before, a baby appeared.

Out of nowhere.
