Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Start of Battle Training

"Oh yeah, about expelling the last place. That was a lie."

"Eh?"

At the UA school grounds, the students blankly stared at Aizawa, processing his statement.

"That was just a rational deception- meant to bring out the best in all of you."

"EHHHH?!?"

At those words, some of the students collapsed to the grassy ground in sheer relief. They were the ones whose scores had been hanging precariously near the bottom.

"Well, of course it was a lie. That much was obvious, wasn't it?"

Momo said, puzzled by the others' reactions. After all, it was impossible for UA to expel them just because of such a trivial matter. If it gets on the news, the school is sure to suffer from public backlash.

"Mouu, Momo-chan, you should've said so earlier. Wait, Ryugamine, did you know it was fake too?"

Mina, who was just complaining to Momo, suddenly turned her attention to Hiro who also didn't react much to Aizawa's words.

"Well, I had my doubts. After all, expelling a possible hero just for being ranked last in an assessment test would be too irrational for Aizawa-sensei."

"Jeez, and you didn't even remind me? You're such a jerk."

Hiro awkwardly laughed. He couldn't really tell her to relax, could he? Especially knowing Aizawa really expelled a bunch of students last year.

Fortunately, at this moment, everyone's score was finalized and their respective class rankings were displayed, sparing him from the trouble of having to make up an excuse.

"Damn it!"

Bakugo clenched his fist. Fourth place. Not even in the top 3. As the future number 1 hero, getting such a result was unacceptable.

He glared at the white haired idiot who was surrounded by the creation bimbo, acid chick, and their other miscellaneous classmates. Seeing him act so nonchalant at getting first, he really wanted to smash in that stupid looking face.

Hiro, who felt a surge of bloodlust, turned to look. When he saw Bakugo glaring at him, he smirked and proceeded to ignore the explosive blond.

"That bastard!"

Sparks flew from his palms. He really wanted to rush forward and blast that guy into submission. But when he saw their scruffy teacher staring at his direction, his reason momentarily prevailed.

"RAAHHH!!"

He screamed and blasted a nearby piece of rock, ignored the surrounding stares, and walked away.

"What's up with him?"

Mina asked in surprise. Why did he suddenly explode out of nowhere?

"I dunno. That guy's a weirdo. Kirishima and I tried asking him about what happened during the ball throw earlier, but he just cursed at us."

Kaminari said. Everyone talked a little more about Bakugo before moving on to what their plan was after school.

Since it was only the first day, they only had Aizawa's class as a way to get introduced to the hero course. The Quirk Assessment Test took only an hour and a half, so it wasn't even noon and they were already dismissed.

They changed to their uniforms and gathered back at the classroom. Most of their classmates were also still hanging around there, with only a few like Bakugo and Todoroki directly heading home.

"Why don't we go look around the campus? I saw clubs recruiting earlier, maybe there's a hero club or something we can join."

"Ashido-san, according to the school pamphlet, there is no such thing. In fact, it's explicitly stated that Hero course students like us are highly discouraged from joining clubs- even outright banning us from joining Sports clubs because it would take too much of our time. Might I suggest first finding a place to eat?"

Momo replied, doing her best to hide her excitement. Hanging out with friends after class- that was something she always dreamed of! She didn't expect to fulfill it just on her first day of high school.

After a brief discussion, the others agreed and the plan was thus finalized. In the spirit of companionship, they invited their other classmates who were still in class.

Toru Hagakure, Kyoka Jiro, Hanta Sero, Rikido Sato, Fumikage Tokoyami, Yuga Aoyama, and Mezo Shoji- all agreed.

As teenagers aspiring to become heroes, everyone easily got along. They went to McDonalds and then walked around UA, familiarizing themselves with the school they would attend for the next three years.

It wasn't until 3 in the afternoon that everyone finally parted ways. Before doing so, they added each other's numbers, as well as joined the group chat Mina created.

On the way back to the orphanage, Hiro stopped by the wet market and bought a large amount of ingredients.

This would be the last time in a while he'd have time to prepare dinner, so he decided to make it as sumptuous as possible.

The next day.

Classes in the morning consist of Math, English, and Japanese- just the normal high school subjects.

Having already learned everything the teacher was teaching, Hiro just trained his Quirk while pretending to listen.

Lunchtime quickly arrived. Except for Mina giving him a sour candy disguised as chocolate, nothing noteworthy happened.

Of course, he would definitely repay the pink-skinned girl for her delicious treat. Even though he adjusted his taste buds at the last moment and made the sour candy delicious, it was the principle of the matter.

Finally, after lunch, the Foundational Hero Studies began.

"I am…coming through the door like a normal person!"

Dressed in his skin tight costume that highlighted his sculpted muscular body, along with a large cape billowing behind him, All Might's entry caused the whole class to burst into cheers.

Although they already knew that All Might was going to teach in UA, seeing the Symbol of Peace really walk into their classroom made the students giddy with excitement.

All Might stood in front of the class with his iconic smile, waiting for the commotion to die down before starting.

"Foundational Hero Studies, the class that'll put you through all sorts of special training. And today, you'll be undergoing…Battle Training!"

At his words, the right side wall of the classroom began to open up, showing rows of cabinets with numbers 1-20.

"And for that, you need these! Designed according to the special request forms you've filled out before being admitted- your hero costumes!"

"OOOHHHH!!!"

"Now this is what I'm talking about! I'm getting all fired up!"

All Might maintained his usual bright smile at the students' enthusiasm. After reminding them to change into their costumes and gather at Ground Beta, he quickly vanished.

And no sooner than he did, everyone excitedly took the briefcase from the cabinets that contained their costumes and headed to the locker room.

"They say clothes maketh the man. Ladies and gentleman, look alive now. Because from today on…you're all heroes!"

Wearing a black, skintight, long-sleeved shirt, a white martial arts trousers, and black martial arts shoes, Hiro led class 1A to gather before All Might.

"Well then, shall we begin, zygotes?"
