Chapter 36 - CHAPTER-35 "EASTON'S EVIL ENTRY"

The thick, suffocating darkness of eleven o'clock settled heavily over the city streets. The grand avenues surrounding the Kingston Paradise Residence were quiet, illuminated only by the faint, rhythmic amber pulse of distant streetlamps.

Mr. Rick Jordan, the head butler of the estate, stepped outside the iron-wrought gates to conduct his final nightly perimeter check. His boots clicked sharply against the pavement. He had been on edge all day, the memory of the morning's masked intruder refusing to leave his mind.

As he walked a short distance down the avenue, his sharp eyes caught a dark silhouette moving stealthily near the edge of the property. The man was wearing a heavy black hoodie pulled tightly over his head, complemented by dark goggles that completely masked his upper face. Even in the dim light, the posture was unmistakable.

Rick's blood ran cold, then boiled with immediate anger.

"Hey, STOP!" Rick shouted, his voice cutting through the midnight air.

The figure stiffened, spun around, and immediately bolted down the street. Rick, driven by sheer duty to the Kingston family, gave chase. The sprint led them away from the estate, tearing down a deserted pathway that culminated onto a high, concrete bypass bridge overlooking a bustling highway below.

Reaching the center of the bridge, the intruder stopped, trapped by the open span. Rick caught up, his chest heaving as he pointed an accusing finger at the shadowed figure.

"Hey you! I saw you at morning," Rick shouted, stepping closer. "I tried to catch you, but you have escaped. Tell me, who are you? Why you are roaming around Leo's Mansion?"

Easton, hidden beneath the deep hood, deliberately turned his face toward the dark expanse of the river below, desperately trying to keep his profile obscured. He ground his teeth together, a wild, unhinged fury vibrating through his entire body.

Rick, completely undeterred, marched forward until he was standing merely inches away. The butler's face twisted in profound irritation.

"WHO ARE YOU?"

Before Easton could answer, Rick reached out and delivered a sharp, reprimanding slap across the stranger's face, mirroring the punishment from that morning.

"WHO ARE YOU?" Rick demanded again, leaning in closer to peer beneath the rim of the dark goggles.

In that fraction of a second, the ambient light from a passing vehicle illuminated the intruder's sharp jawline and the distinct shape of his mouth. Rick's eyes widened in sudden, absolute terror as the pieces clicked together. The man standing before him wasn't a common street thief.

He looked exactly like Easton.

"You..." Rick whispered, his voice shaking as he began to step backward.

Easton looked up, a slow, terrifyingly evil smile spreading across his lips as he realized his identity had been compromised. The time for hiding was over.

With a sudden, explosive burst of violence, Easton lunged forward. He gripped Rick tightly by the collar of his suit jacket, lifting the older man with a strength fueled entirely by adrenaline and hatred. Without a single word, he hurled the head butler completely over the concrete railing of the bridge.

Rick screamed as he plummeted into the dark void below. A split second later, a heavy cargo lorry roaring down the highway slammed directly into his falling frame.

Standing high above on the bridge, Easton leaned over the railing, watching the horrific scene play out on the asphalt below. He let out a loud, delighted laugh, his face completely twisted with a manic joy as he adjusted his hoodie and walked calmly away into the night.

The New Identity

The following morning, the sun rose over the city, casting a deceptive warmth across the grand columns of the Leonardo Kingston Paradise Residence.

Near the security checkpoint, a man approached the gates with a calculated, confident stride. Easton had meticulously altered his entire appearance. He wore a heavy, perfectly styled wig that completely changed his hairline, a thick, dark mustache that masked the contours of his mouth, and was dressed in the impeccable, starch-collared uniform of a professional butler.

As he reached the iron gates, two burly security guards stepped into his path, their expressions hard.

"Who are you?"

Easton lowered his voice, adopting a formal, polite tone that completely masked his usual arrogant drawl.

"I am the nephew of Rick Jordan, and I am Paul Jordan, where everyone call me Paul. My uncle left to take care of his mom, and I came to serve and fulfill his responsibilities."

To seal the lie, Easton reached into his breast pocket and produced a cleanly edited, convincing photograph showing himself and Rick standing side by side. The security guards inspected the photo, glanced at his uniform, and slowly stepped aside, typing his new credentials into the system.

"Go ahead, Paul. Master Richard is inside."

Easton bowed his head slightly in appreciation. As he walked down the long, paved driveway toward the main mansion doors, a dark, venomous thought echoed through his mind.

"I am coming back, Leo... to take revenge on you."

Pushing the heavy oak doors open, Easton stepped into the grand foyer. He walked into the primary living room, where Isabella, Richard, and Tina Kingston were seated around the glass coffee table, speaking in hushed, worried tones about Rick's sudden absence.

Richard looked up, his sharp eyes instantly locking onto the unfamiliar butler standing at the entrance.

"WHO ARE YOU?"

Easton bowed perfectly from the waist, hands clasped formally behind his back.

"Sir, I am the nephew of Rick Jordan. I am Paul Jordan, and my uncle went to another city to take care of his mom. I came to fulfill my uncle's responsibilities."

Richard's brow furrowed in deep confusion. He leaned back against his chair, studying the new butler.

"What happened to Rick's mother? As he said, his mother is good and fine, and even undergone a surgery before."

Easton didn't flinch. He maintained his calm, subservient expression, his voice smooth and steady.

"Sir, she went for surgery before, but not good and fine. So, my uncle went to look after her until he comes back, and I will serve his role and duty. If you have a doubt, please look these pics. I am really his nephew."

He stepped forward respectfully, placing the photograph on the table. Richard picked it up, analyzing the image for a long moment before finally letting out a sigh of relief. He nodded his head in acceptance.

"Very well, Paul. We were worried about the sudden vacancy. Thank you for stepping in."

Isabella offered a gentle, warm smile from the sofa, her voice filled with genuine hospitality.

"If anything is needed, please inform us. We will help."

Easton bowed again, his eyes gleaming with hidden mockery beneath his disguise.

"You are too kind, mam."

Suspicion and Deceit

The sound of firm, measured footsteps echoed from the grand staircase. Leonardo Kingston walked downstairs, his tailored suit immaculate, his presence instantly commanding the room. He stopped at the base of the stairs, his sharp, piercing gaze locking instantly onto the new butler.

An intense, silent eye-lock happened between the two men. The air in the foyer grew suddenly tense, vibrating with an unseen hostility.

Leo stared at the tall man, an instinctual alarm ringing deep within his mind.

"Who is this tall guy?" Leo asked himself, his eyes narrowing as he analyzed the stranger's posture. There was something buried beneath the formal uniform that felt entirely wrong.

Standing across from him, Easton forced himself to keep his eyes lowered in a fake display of respect, though his heart was pounding with a vicious thrill.

"I came to hunt you, Leo," Easton thought, a silent sneer forming in his heart. "And I will steal all your happiness and life very soon."

Before the silence could draw any further attention, Margaret Kingston-Vance stepped out from her residential wing. She glanced between Leo and Easton, a smooth, knowing smile gracing her features as she walked into the room to validate her son's infiltration.

"You must be tired already," Margaret said, directing a warm, maternal gaze toward "Paul" that left Richard and Isabella completely unsuspecting. "Feel free like a home and take rest in the guest room for today. Can take rest today and work from tomorrow."

"Thank you, madam," Easton replied smoothly.

Suddenly, a sharp vibration rattled against Easton's thigh. His personal phone was buzzing relentlessly in his pocket—yet another aggressive call from Mr. X demanding the 150 million dollars. Keeping his composure completely intact, Easton reached into his pocket, ignored the call without looking, and swiftly placed the device on silent mode.

Leo watched the interaction, his suspicion growing tenfold. The butler's delayed reaction to his own phone and the strange, familiar gait of his body felt like a riddle he needed to solve.

Turning to one of the senior house helps walking past the hallway, Leo drew him into the shadows of the corridor.

"Who is he?" Leo asked, his voice a low, commanding whisper.

Chef Tyler paused, wiping his hands on his apron as he looked back toward the living room.

"He is nephew of Rick and came to work here, sir. Rick had an family emergency, apparently."

Leo didn't say another word. He turned on his heel and walked up the stairs back into his private room, his mind working rapidly to identify the source of the unease settling over his home.

The Shield of Devotion

Inside the quiet sanctuary of Leo's bedroom, Elsa sat on the edge of the massive mattress, her hands tightly clasped in her lap. The room was filled with Leo's subtle scent, a constant reminder of the man who had brought her into his world. She stared blankly at the floor, her heart heavy with an intense, suffocating guilt.

"I did a grave mistake by leaving Leo," she whispered to the empty room, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "Or else Leo would not end up in danger."

She stood up, walking toward the window and looking out over the sprawling estate grounds, entirely unaware that Easton was currently walking the halls below.

"I know Kayla is important to me, and if I wasn't there with her, Kayla may lost her life along with her baby," she murmured, her voice hardening with a sudden, fierce protectiveness. "Whatever the danger is, I would ensure that my loved ones to never fall any danger."

She pressed her hand against the cool glass, her thoughts centering entirely on Leo's safety and the storm that seemed to be gathering around his life.

"I will stand in front of danger and would shield Leo and Kayla. Whatever the danger is, I would face it."
