Elysia held Vya, both of their faces—one large, one small—pressed against the airplane window.
Their eyes sparkled brightly.
They were gazing at the scenery outside.
"Mmm~ It's especially fun to look down from the sky, you know♪~"
Elysia nuzzled Vya's cheek, her long pink hair mingling with the little girl's white locks.
In the seat behind them, Mobius's face remained frosty. Originally, she had planned to bring only Vya along.
But she never expected Elysia to tag along anyway, sticking to them like glue.
Really, that pink-haired woman… there was just no dealing with her. Elysia always had a way of disrupting her plans.
"Vya wants to fly outside!"
Vya clapped her little hands excitedly.
"That doesn't seem like a good idea. It's better for Vya to stay on the plane with us, okay~?"
Elysia said with a smile.
"Vya could carry you sisters too."
Vya lifted her little face, beaming happily.
"Oh~"
"We'll talk about it next time~ You have to try it, Mobius, absolutely~"
Elysia chuckled, already picturing Vya whisking her and Mobius through the air, flying freely.
Actually, that didn't sound too bad? Hehe.

Listening from behind, Mobius unconsciously covered her face with her hand. Somehow, knowing Elysia felt so embarrassing…
The plane began to tremble slightly. Vya grabbed Elysia's hand. "Sister, the plane is shaking…"
"It's alright~" Elysia held her a little tighter. "We've just hit a bit of turbulence, that's all."
Mobius spoke up suddenly. "Vya, do you know why the plane shakes?"
Vya shook her head, looking at Mobius curiously.
"Because the temperature and density of the air are different at different altitudes," Mobius explained in simple terms. "Like whirlpools in water. The plane shakes a little when it passes through them."
"Oh! Vya understands now~ Thank you, Sister Mobius!"
Vya laughed happily.
"Mmm."
Mobius nodded.
Her mind returned to the documents in her hands.
Today, they were heading to Mu.
…To find someone—Einstein, a genius who, much like herself, had been renowned for a long time.
Their interactions had been few, and in scientific research, there was that saying about different fields being like different mountains.
But for people like them, climbing over those mountains was pretty easy.
Recently, this Dr. Einstein had also designed something quite impressive.
Armored puppets—these came about only after Vill-V and Mei had revealed Soulium to the world. Once these little things were deployed on the battlefield, they brought about tremendous changes in the war against the Honkai.
These little puppets possessed remarkable learning capabilities, able to quickly summarize combat data.
At the same time, all individual units shared information, truly many bodies with one mind.
And thanks to the unique properties of Soulium, they could quickly recover after being damaged, paired with their constant learning trait…
This greatly reduced human casualties on the battlefield.
However…
Drawbacks existed too, ones Mobius could easily spot.
But that wasn't the purpose of this trip.
Mobius turned to the next page of documents.
It contained information about the Eye of the Deep.
The Abyss was located in the Mariana Trench. Ever since MOTH discovered it several years ago, they had been sending personnel to conduct research.
The one in charge of participating in this project was, again, Einstein…
"Dr. Einstein is sure to be very surprised seeing the three of us show up together."
Elysia said suddenly, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
She and Einstein had met a few times before as well.
Mobius rolled her eyes. "She'll only be surprised that I've been able to tolerate you for this long."
"My, that's just the power of friendship, you know♪~"
"..."
Mobius said nothing, silently reading her documents.
