Recently, she had made some progress regarding the two Honkai beast corpses Vya transformed into.
The two Honkai beasts had similar but distinctly different genetics, specifically in form and ability.
More importantly, the genes of the little white cat Vya transformed into while pursuing the Wind Herrscher—later named [Siam Deva]—exhibited an inhibitory effect on most other genes.
This was something Mobius discovered while attempting to fuse the genes of two completely different Honkai beasts.
Introducing the gene sequence fragment from [Siam Deva] into both sets of genes allowed the two Honkai beast genes to fuse.
For now, Mobius was the only one aware of this research finding. Its ultimate significance, of course, went without saying.
It wasn't just about the concept of new artificial Honkai beasts, or the fusion of multiple Honkai beast genes. What if the Honkai beast was replaced with a human?

Mobius called out.
"Here! What is it, Doctor?"
Klein jolted upright, red marks from her arm still pressed onto her cheek.
"Aren't those two new assistants supposed to come today?"
"Yes, that's right."
Klein checked the time. "According to the notice, they should arrive in half an hour."
"It's almost time. Go receive them."
"Yes, Doctor."
After replying, Klein rubbed her eyes, straightened her uniform, and left.

Meanwhile.
Two brunette girls were walking along. Upon closer look, their faces were nearly identical.
Their attire was similar too; they must be twins.
"Um… Fuxi, shouldn't we have come this early…"
said the girl with a lock of red hair on her right side.
"Weren't you the one who was all nervous and insisted on coming an hour early? Saying we needed to make a good impression on the Doctor?"
The one called Fuxi had a lock of blue hair on her left side.
"Ahaha… well, it is Doctor Mobius after all…"
Fuxi sighed. "Alright, Nuwa, let's just ask someone for directions."
"Okay, let's hurry."
As they were talking, they suddenly saw a little white-haired girl come bouncing around the corner of the corridor, humming a tuneless song.

Seeing how lively she was within the base, she was probably someone's child or something…

Nuwa waved at Vya and called out.
The happy little Vya turned and saw the two sisters.
One red, one blue—such a classic color scheme.
"Hmm? What is it, sisters?"
Vya came over to them and asked.
"It's like this, hello! We're new researchers, looking for Doctor Mobius. Do you know where her laboratory is?"
"Oh, Sister Mobius? Of course Vya knows!"
The little girl said with a smile.
"Really?"
Nuwa looked at Fuxi delightedly. "See? I told you this little miss might know!"
Fuxi politely nodded to Vya. "Then, could we trouble you to take us there?"
"Of course! Sisters, follow Vya!"
The little girl smiled and walked ahead to lead the way.

On the way, Nuwa asked curiously:
"Little miss, your name is Vya, right?"
"That's right, I'm Vya. What about you, sisters?"
"I'm Nuwa, hehe… and this is my younger sister, Fuxi."
Nuwa introduced them, only to get her arm swatted by Fuxi immediately after.
"I'm the older sister."
Fuxi corrected.
"No, you're not! We were born on the same day!" Nuwa protested.
Though she didn't want to admit it, Fuxi really was the older sister.
Watching them bicker, Vya giggled. "Sister Nuwa and Sister Fuxi, Vya will remember!"
"We're twins, you know."
Nuwa said proudly. "Little Vya, can you tell any differences between us?"
"Hmm… the blue one and the red one."
Vya pointed at Fuxi and Nuwa respectively.
"Wow, little Vya is so smart! Good job!"
Nuwa said with a laugh.
"Very impressive."
Fuxi also commented.
Vya smiled. It was such a simple thing, really.
Although Vya could directly see the light surrounding the two, the correct way to tell them apart was by the colored locks in their hair.
Fuxi's was blue-black, Nuwa's was crimson-red.
