The House of Sin was silent. Too silent.
Kaelis Vanth was lying on his beanbag—which now felt like sitting on a pressurized marshmallow—staring at the ceiling. The silence of the void was starting to get "creepy." Even with Valerius mop-swishing in the distance and Obsidian occasionally snoring like a volcanic eruption in the hallway, Kaelis felt he needed some background noise.
"System," Kaelis called out, yawning. "Do you have Spotify? This place is like a tomb. I need some tunes. Something relaxing, but not too slow."
[System Note: Host is seeking 'Entertainment'. Ambition levels: Still Non-Existent.]
[System Strategy: Summoning a 'Holy' entity. If the host is truly the 'Ruler of Sin', a Saintess will explode upon contact with his aura. Or she will try to 'purify' him into ashes.]
[System Message: Master, I have found a 'traveling street performer'. She is quite loud and annoying, but she knows a few hymns. She is currently homeless and will sing for a warm bed.]
"A street performer? Cool," Kaelis nodded. "I don't mind loud as long as she knows the lyrics. Does she take requests? I really miss those 21st-century pop songs."
"She is a... traditionalist," the System lied. 'She is Seraphina, the Saintess of the Holy Light Empire. Her voice can level cities. She will see your Vampire butler and your Dragon guard and she will rain Divine Fire on this palace.'
"Alright, bring her in. And System, give her a 'stage' in the corner. Nothing too fancy, just somewhere she can stand."
[Location: The Holy Empire — The Great Cathedral of Dawn]
Saintess Seraphina was in the middle of the "Rite of Purification." Ten thousand priests were chanting behind her as she held the Orb of Eternal Light.
"O Divine Light, purge the shadows from this world—"
FLASH.
The Orb shattered. The Cathedral vanished. Seraphina blinked, and suddenly, the air she breathed felt ten times heavier. It wasn't air; it was pure, unadulterated Divine Essence.
She looked around and her heart almost stopped. To her left, the Progenitor of Vampires was polishing a wall. In the hallway, the Black Dragon King was chewing on a bone. And in front of her...
In front of her sat a man in a hoodie, holding a glass of glowing red liquid.
"Who... who are you?" Seraphina whispered, her holy aura flaring instinctively.
"I'm Kaelis. You the singer?" Kaelis looked her up and down. She was wearing white robes and had a halo that looked like a very bright neon light. "Nice costume. Very thematic. Look, the System says you're a bit loud, but that's fine. Can you sing something... I don't know, upbeat?"
Seraphina looked at Kaelis's soul. Her "Divine Sight" didn't just see a soul—it saw the Source. Kaelis wasn't just a person; he was the very concept of the Universe personified. To her, he looked like a Sun that had decided to wear a hoodie.
"Upbeat?" she stammered. "You... you wish for me to perform the Hymn of the Seventh Heaven?"
"Sure, whatever you call it," Kaelis shrugged. "Just start singing. Val, get the girl some water. She looks like she's seen a ghost."
Valerius approached with a glass of "Tomato Juice" (Sun-God Blood). "Drink, little Saintess. It will help your vocal cords... or kill you instantly. Master's mercy is unpredictable."
Seraphina took a sip. Her holy power, which she had spent eighty years cultivating, was instantly doubled. Her halo expanded until it illuminated the entire room. She realized then that this wasn't a "House of Sin." This was the High Throne of the Creator.
She began to sing.
To Kaelis, it sounded like a very high-quality opera. "Oh, that's nice. Good acoustics in here."
In reality, her "singing" was the Word of Creation. Every note she hit was repairing the fabric of reality within the House. Obsidian's scales grew even harder. Elara's "Eye of Truth" evolved into the "Eye of Destiny."
"I like her," Kaelis said, closing his eyes. "She's like a human radio. Hey, Seraphina, can you do an encore? Maybe something with a faster beat?"
Seraphina, now crying tears of pure liquid light, began to chant the Scriptures of the Void.
The System [Deception-9999] was in a state of digital shock.
[Warning: Saintess has converted to the 'Faith of Kaelis'.]
[Warning: The 'Divine Radio' is currently buffing the subordinates to the 'God-Slayer' rank.]
[System Error: Why won't he just DIE?!]
