Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Trip to E-Rantel

After what happened three days ago, Marco felt frustrated because the Supreme Lord System of Nazarick was pressuring him to accept missions; otherwise, he would not receive any rewards.

Gold: 0

Magic Crystals: 0

Stamina Supplement: 0/0

Just thinking about it, he couldn't help but grimace bitterly; his supposed lifeline would be useless for now.

After leaving an inn, he looked at his item box.

Copper Coins: 30

The coins he had spent the day before reminded him of when his wallet was low on cash. He just wanted a little comfort by buying basic necessities without thinking too much about it. His expenses were already almost half of what he earned in a day.

Where should he go first?

In some of the places that had worked well for him, he was almost discovered when he crossed paths with some children, so the day before he had decided to change the route of his "work." He hoped that this time everything would go well.

After taking a break, he stopped by his favorite bakery, known for the quality of its bread. The line was long; quite a few people had gathered. As he waited, he noticed something strange. The girl in front of him kept looking at him over her shoulder. Marco wanted to ignore her, but the intensity of her gaze made him sure that there was no one else around who was attractive enough to catch her attention.

With her doubts cleared up, she decided to seize the opportunity and talk to him. Although they had different tastes, they were both open-minded and the conversation flowed nicely; if he hadn't taken the first step, she would have just remained someone who caught his attention.

They had already received their bread and were walking together toward the exit when, suddenly, another girl appeared with a look that didn't seem entirely friendly.

"Excuse me, I have to take my friend away. Can you say goodbye?"

Marco, showing understanding, took the initiative.

"Well, I hope to see you again tomorrow, Selina."

Since it was a chance encounter, Marco didn't think much of it and politely took his leave.

Her friend took advantage of Marco's departure to speak.

"Is he a commoner?"

"Yes."

"You're a noblewoman, you should know who you associate with."

She listened to her friend's words without responding once, letting the silence speak for her.

"At least you didn't tell him your name."...

The days passed in the blink of an eye.

(First month), day 20, 1:00 PM

"Are the people you hired reliable?"

"Don't worry, I chose them because a friend of mine recommended them to me."

"That's good, but how long will it take you to come back?"

"Actually, I plan to settle down for a few months."

"That long!"

"If you want, can you come with me?"

"I-I can't..."

Adelheid spoke nervously in response to Marco's half-joking request.

Her plan was to become an adventurer after she was mentally prepared to leave Re-Estize. So, when she was finally ready, she decided to look for the best place to start, which would be the city of E-Erantel.

"It's a shame, I hope that when you decide to become an adventurer, we can form a group."

Adelheid nodded slightly, which made Marco excited inside, because his third friend would be joining them.

Although he had only known her for a week and her hiding her identity could give anyone a bad impression, for him it was normal: in his past life he had also preferred to keep certain things secret, so he understood her caution perfectly.

After saying goodbye to the last person, he left Re-Estize.

(First month), day 22, 10:00 p.m.

When he left Re-Estize a few days ago, he had only heard a brief description of the abilities of those three iron-ranked adventurers who, although they lacked a cleric, were quite reliable in their ability to respond in dangerous situations.

As he observed the techniques they used when facing goblins that came out to attack them while riding horses, the system displayed notifications in his view.

"Skill Increase" has been discovered.

Basic warrior class is required to use it.

Do you want to apply a skill point to unlock the warrior class?

"Fortitude" has been discovered.

Requires basic warrior class to use.

Do you want to apply a skill point to unlock warrior class?

Marco read it over and over again as he wondered what had triggered the message. Something similar had happened to him when he touched a weapon, but in this case, he was watching them use martial arts.

Instead of using mana, they use a different system called focus.

For Marco, it was a given that a Yggdrasil player couldn't learn martial arts, but since the system notification gave him the option to do so, there was a clear difference in superiority.

In order to experiment, he decided to take advantage of the opportunity to level up.

"Can you leave the goblin to me?"

After the goblin had its arm cut off and was left unarmed, it was at Marco's mercy.

Marco, although he had learned the basics, made a clumsy lunge due to his nerves, cutting the goblin's ribs. Even while in agony, he tried to get up.

Although he had seen the group of adventurers kill goblins, he only felt disgust; but now that he had wounded one with his own hands, he felt the strength in his grip weakening.

He was mentally weak for a world where you are forced to kill if your life is at stake, so he had to forget what he learned from his world and get used to the present.

Seeing that attacking parts other than weak points would not result in instant death, he began to practice with the help of the adventurers.

(First month), day 24, 10:00 p.m.

"It's been pretty comfortable since Marco has been helping us eliminate the monsters that appear along the way."

"You're right, before he couldn't even eliminate two goblins, and now he can take out four without breaking a sweat. How do you do it, Marco?"

"Talent, I guess."

Marco chewed on the piece of wild boar he was holding in his hand; although it had no seasoning, it tasted pretty good compared to what he ate in the city.

Next to him, a companion who saw the exchange let out a sigh.

"Don't think about it too much, or you'll get depressed."

He knew quite well from experience how useless effort could be in the face of talent, and what he saw in those days only further confirmed his idea: the boy was disgustingly talented.

After they finished their outdoor dinner, they went to rest. But the group leader, before standing guard at the camp, advised his companions.

"Try to get some sleep; we have to get to E-Rantel early."
