In fact, the legends Sunny Finch knew were almost entirely accurate. However, she was unaware of the dragon veins' true function—or rather, Bowen Liu's actual purpose for sealing them.
Throughout Kunlun, only the Sect Leader and the elders knew the full story, and even they possessed only a vague understanding!
At the stadium, the Hogwarts students were sighing and lamenting their crushing defeat. But the moment the white dragon appeared, everyone's attention snapped skyward.
Harry Potter exclaimed in surprise, "What is that?"
The other Hogwarts students stared in awe. Charlotte looked up at the creature soaring overhead.
"That's a dragon," she said.
Penelope frowned. "A dragon? It looks nothing like the dragons I've read about."
"According to our elders," Charlotte replied, "this is a true dragon. Even the great dragons aren't true dragons—this is genuine."
Cedric gaped at the majestic beast. "Like the ones from Eastern legends? I've read the tales, but I thought they were just... stories."
Charlotte's gaze turned serious. "I don't know if this creature truly exists in the wild, but we should prepare ourselves. If nothing else, the real third trial is about to begin."
The other contestants looked at her, startled.
"The real third trial?" Harry asked. "What was what we just experienced?"
Charlotte shook her head. "You didn't think the adults would arrange such a straightforward game for us, did you? This isn't befitting of champions."
Penelope stepped closer. "Charlotte, you seem to know more than we do. Why don't you tell us, so we can prepare?"
"Actually," Charlotte admitted, "I don't know the specifics. I only know that when the white dragon appears, the real test begins. But I have no idea how it will be conducted."
The Hogwarts contestants exchanged bewildered glances.
Beside a stone pillar, Fleur stared at the monolith before her. It had transformed entirely.
The black color had faded completely, leaving behind a pillar as white as jade. More strikingly, the nail on the dragon carving had vanished.
The dragon itself was moving across the stone, appearing for all the world as if it were alive.
Fleur reached out curiously and brushed her fingers against the moving white dragon.
Instantly, she was thrown backward, crashing to the ground. If she hadn't grown significantly stronger during the competition—and immediately cast a Shield Charm—she would have been badly injured.
Fleur looked at the pillar with suspicion and uncertainty, but she didn't dare touch it again.
Meanwhile, in the forest at the mountain range's center, a dull rumble echoed from the ground.
Erwin's eyes lit up. "Get ready."
The Cavendish family members spread out, surrounding the central area. They crouched low, planting their wands into the earth, every one of them on high alert.
As the ground trembled more violently, a series of white streaks of light slowly appeared on the surface.
Erwin saw them immediately.
"Attack!"
The Cavendish members channeled their magic simultaneously. Wall-like structures of pure magical power materialized, pressing down toward the center and trapping the white streaks within.
Erwin flashed forward, appearing directly in the center of these magical walls. His own power surged, pressing down toward the ground. The streaks of light seemed to sense the danger and accelerated, but they were already surrounded. Even with their fierce struggles, they couldn't break through the Cavendish blockade.
Erwin's lips curved into a smile. "Got you."
He stomped his foot hard on the ground. A surge of magical power erupted from his body, and a dragon-shaped pendant was forced up from the earth. Erwin raised his hand and snatched it, examining it closely.
He looked at Old Tom beside him. Tom nodded, leading the Cavendish family away quickly.
Once everyone had cleared the area, Erwin sat cross-legged on the ground. He held the pendant in his hand, and something shifted within it.
Beams of white light began emanating from the object. In the sky, the phantom of the white dragon let out a roar and charged directly down toward Erwin.
Erwin took two steps back and threw the pendant to the ground. The white dragon plunged directly into it.
The pendant shattered.
Strands of white energy, mixed with golden threads, seeped into the ground. As they vanished, the earth began shaking violently. The entire Changbai Mountain range felt the tremors.
The audience was terrified.
"What's happening? An earthquake?"
"My God, this is terrible!"
"Get out of here! We can't stay during an earthquake!"
Panic spread through the crowd; some wizards were already reaching for their wands to Apparate.
Then Old Tom appeared. "Everyone, please don't panic! My master is preparing the arena for the final competition. Please wait quietly."
Hearing this, the audience's fear subsided. They trusted the Cavendish family and waited curiously. What could cause such a commotion?
In the Changbai Mountains, the contestants from all four schools were also flustered. However, the Cavendish family appeared at the most opportune moment, offering the same reassuring words. The contestants were now filled with anticipation.
Meanwhile, Erwin stood with his hands behind his back, watching the ground settle.
Soon, a dragon-shaped sculpture made of white jade emerged from the earth. The instant it appeared, nine streaks of light flashed across the sky, piercing directly into the sculpture. These were the nine stone pillars—now entirely silver-white—finally united.
As the pillars were inserted, the Changbai Mountains fell silent.
Erwin tapped the ground. A stone platform slowly materialized. He took out the Goblet of Fire and placed it on the platform.
Then a screen appeared simultaneously before both the contestants and the spectators. On the screen was Erwin.
