Before he was born Liam had this tiny bit of consciousness he couldn't quite explain.
It was short and brief like sleeping for ten days only to wake up for a minute and fall asleep again.
But despite how short the time was,he often heard and understood things he knew he shouldn't be able to to. And from these moments he developed an idea of the world.
A cruel place full of injustice
The reason why?, simple.
Though he couldn't see or move he could hear and understood things everytime he was conscious. And almost always his mother he presumed, would be rubbing their stomach and softly whispering words like
"It's going to be okay" Or "everything will be fine soon"
In a gentle and sad tone,and immediately afterwards they would start crying and keep crying until his consciousness would fade again. Sometimes it was worst than just crying,he would hear man shouting then his mother pleading and what sounded like beating and afterwards they would continue crying. From this he already knew his mother was being abused.
But that wasn't the only reason,no. Once he had heard a conversation between his mother and a female friend he presumes.And what they said had confirmed his theory.
"Why don't you go to the police?"
The female friend had asked. His mother took their time before answering.
"You know you can't thrust the government anymore,and that includes the police"
After hearing his mother's words,the female friend seemed to have gotten angry. From what he could hear it seems she got up and had began walking away,then the door slammed shut with a loud bang!,and his mother returned back to weeping.
All these clues put together and Liam knew the world he was going to be born in,but he still wished to be born faster. The sooner he was born the sooner he can help and comfort his mother.
Then the day finally arrived.
The first thing he heard when he regained consciousness was the sound of nurses yelling "push!" and screams that obviously belonged to his mother. After what felt like hours of yelling and screaming,Liam was finally born. He didn't cry and the nurses didn't seem to care either. They washed him up and handed him over to his mother,then he saw their face clearly and he was quite surprised
"A male?!"
He thought in his head, staring at the person he thought was a female in surprise.
His "father" as he now calls him,placed a gentle kiss on his cheeks and whispered
"Liam"
His name, a single word, yet the meaning spoke louder than any words.
A strong willed warrior and protector
His father wanted him to be strong,even though the world he has been born into was merciless and cruel.
