Chapter 1 - The Final Night

Han Mengyao knew he was going to die, there was no avoiding it. Yet as the Blade of Dao had begun to descend onto his neck, he couldn't help but regret it all. Han Mengyao closed his eyes one last time as a gentle smile crept onto his sweet face, the sounds of people yelling eventually faded away, and everything was dark.

"You," a young man spoke in a hushed tone, "did you hear? The diviner of the imperial family was executed!"

That alone was enough to spark whispers and theories among the crowd. The tavern was rather busy this night, it irked Feng Shui greatly. All he had wanted was a couple of drinks to relax after a troublesome day.

However, the mention of the Imperial families diviner sparked great interest within his mind. A diviner executed?

"Why was he executed?" He spoke in a honeyed tone. "The diviner, why would someone with connection to the imperial family be executed?"

In response to his question many of the other drunkards began to call out reasons.

"Treason they say!"

"Some say he had fucked the princess!"

Suddenly amongst the unruly crowd a young woman stood up and yelled.

"Foolish," her voice was rather orotund, "how idiotic! The diviner was executed because they believed him to be mad!"

This had hushed the crowd, with a growing smirk the woman drew closer to Feng Shui.

"The diviner was cursed, he had brought great misfortune upon the imperial family, but that was only part of the reason why he was executed."

Feng Shui couldn't help but contemplate the new information he was being told, how much of this was true?

"Lady, what do you mean only part of the reason?" Feng Shui could feel a pang of discomfort ring throughout his body, "what was the full reason?"

But before he could get an answer, the woman was gone. Leaving only a bewildered crowd and a stressed Feng Shui.
