I surrendered completely to his touch. Unlacing my wrists from his grip, I drove my fingers deep into his thick, dark hair, gripping his scalp and pulling his mouth back down to mine. Deep down, a fierce certainty took root in my chest: I was ready to face the entire damn world ready to confront the hideous truth of my bloodline as long as I was held right here between his hands, safe under his absolute protection.
I lost myself to the burning trail of his lips as they slid away from my mouth, tracing down the sensitive curve of my throat, sparking a wild, uncontrollable shiver through every inch of my body.
I swept my hands slowly down his broad, bare back, my fingers digging into the tight, defined muscles of his shoulder blades as he pulled the shirt off my shoulders in one smooth, decisive swipe.
