Author's note: didn't drop the story sorry for the wait. Health scare on my end and work. Only one or two chapters a week until stuff at work is not so hectic as I've been working overtime since the new year.
" ok, mom love you," I say as I hang up the video phone. I stand up stretching as the pokemon center starts getting busier with trainers waking up and getting through thier mornings. I walk over to a large notice board that's in the trainer's lounge and start looking at the trainer jobs. Many jobs required proof of rank as some are quite dangerous but the few that do not are easily done and net a fair amount of cash or even battle items, or products that make training easier or everyday life easier. Like the pewter city gem mines being opened to all rank trainers and the trainers get to keep most of the stuff they excavated bar things like really precious gems and gold but the mines pay directly to the trainers for the products.i scan the information with my pokedex when canari appears at my side and says," hey we talked a little this morning getting ready and we are taking turns between the battle club in town and doing a job. So today is jobs and tomorrow is the battle club then a rest/ planning day while we're in towns if that's ok with you."
" of course that's fine actually, the mine job is a quick way to gain cash easily," I say as she looks at the information and nods. We leave the pokemon center with misty and penny along with one of our pokemon each mine being zorua while canari takes a helioptile, Misty with her furret and finally penny with flareon. We arrive at the mine/quarry and we actually get a unused quarry number by luck and we head on out in a side by side the company owns and ferries trainers to their quarry number.
It takes us about ten minutes to get to our quarry number and we disembark to get a good spot. We soon find ourselves at a lower pit that is not easily seen before we start digging with our pokemon. Zorua and flareon easily start using dig creating a nice sized hole. We work for about an hour until misty hits something with her shovel and she pulls it out examining it," huh wonder what this is." She holds up a piece of purple metal that's slightly curved and penny looks at her rotom phone looking it up.
" it's a piece of malicious armor, something from paldea that evolves a pokemon known as charcadet into ceruledge. Usually you have the full armor but that's only in paldea for some reason," says penny as she types away at the rotom phone, " pieces can be traded in for cash at dealers and museums but the best thing would be forging the full armor and selling that instead. A single piece is worth closs to 10k while the full armor, about 50 pieces is worth 500k minimum at auctions. Last full restoration was sold for almost 3.2 million in sinnoh."
" damn. That's a lot," says Misty already weighing the pros and cons," sadly I probably won't get a full set any time soon to sell so maybe I should sell the piece."
" actually I'd wait and see first," I say as she looks at me," each piece is worth a lot individually so it's trade value is also worth a lot. So any trade meets could get you stuff that you normally can't such as rare items or even pokemon from collectors," I say as misty nods and her furret runs up to her with another armor piece in its mouth. She beans in joy and she continues to look for stuff while keeping an eye out for more armor pieces.
A few hours goes by as we talk about our dreams. Canari wanting to go full time streamer after her journey testing and playing games for people, penny wants to actually be a IT technician but for her own company as she actually has been coding an app to help trainers, and businesses with controlling thier money flow and it's actually on the market. Looking for the app on my pokedex i find it and pay for the premium subscription as well as the others showing support. Misty actually talks about just being the cerulean gym leader after her journey.
After a couple more hours taking breaks and eating a decent lunch we leave with heavy bags of items. Misty found a total of 4 malicious armor pieces, some citrine and amethyst gems and a unused water stone. Canari found some amethyst citrine as well along with a bone that was fossilized that is called a rare bone. Penny found a smooth rock, ice rock, damp rock, and heat rock. I found about 15 pieces of red , green and blue shards. Turning in our items we net a decent profit with canari and misty getting close to 8,000 pokedollars each from thier gems, and canari gets 15k from her rare bone. While my shards actually netted me a profit of 20k pokedollars from some archeology professor that is partnered with the pewter city museum. Returning to the pokemon center and showering i take the girls out to a nice restaurant and I pay for the meal. After that i set up my appointment with the pewter city gym getting my confirmation number and time slot for the day after tomorrow.
