Chapter 100 - Chapter 98 : I'll send him for you

Jay-Jay's POV

Flashback Continues

One week had passed.

Our lives had somehow started to feel almost normal—

like regular human lives... well, as normal as things could get for us, anyway!

The rest of Section E had already started hunting for colleges.

Keifer and Kuya Angelo were nagging and forcing me to look into it too, but...

I was just way too lazy for all of that right now.

I flopped backward onto the couch, letting out a long sigh.

To be completely honest, my brain was totally fried;

I just couldn't bring myself to think about higher education or career paths.

Right now, Keifer was planning to move to London.

Or rather, Uncle Kier was calling him over there so Keifer could handle his studies while also managing the London branch of the business.

Things had gotten a bit—okay,

a lot—disbalanced over there after his father's death.

Uncle Kier had even asked me to come along to London with him, and Keifer clearly wanted that too.

But... I had literally just gotten my dad back after all these years, and he wanted me to stay with them and study in New York instead.

That was the main reason Keifer wasn't pushing me too hard about it.

He wanted me to make the choice on my own.

I adjusted my head against the armrest of the sofa, letting my gaze drift down to the faint, healing scars on my hands from everything that happened that day in the warehouse.

I really missed Elara.

I don't know if she's good person or not, I don't want to know too, I just know that she's out I genuinely missed her.

The whole of Section E did. Even CN had called me late last night, actually sobbing over the phone because he missed her bossy attitude.

I let out another heavy exhale as I looked around the room.

We were back at the Fernandez house now.

Keifer was staying here too—of course, typical Keifer.

He either wanted to stay glued to my side to take care of me, or he was plotting how to convince me to move to his house,

which Kuya Angelo would literally rather die than allow.

Right now, though,

I was the only one actually at home, aside from a few servants. Everyone else was out and about.

Ate Ion, Kuya Angelo, and a bunch of the other guys and girls had gone out shopping to replace all the furniture and items that got smashed during that chaotic mess a week ago.

My eyes drifted toward the brand-new coffee table sitting right in front of me.

It had only been delivered four days ago after I found out the previous one was smashed to pieces by my...

super powerful dev-- I mean, angelic Kuya Angelo.

As for Mom and Dad, they were still back in New York, with Tita Gemma staying close to help look after them.

Tita already knew the full truth of what had happened here and had even looped Mom in, but they kept it away from Dad for now.

His medical treatments were still ongoing, and we couldn't risk stressing him out.

I just desperately hoped he would be fully well soon.

Before I could sink any deeper into my thoughts, the doorbell rang.

Ugh! Who could that possibly be right now?

Where were all the maids? Ugh, of course, no one was around to get the door.

It was so comfortable lounging on the sofa, half-drowning in my own overthinking, that I had nearly drifted off to sleep.

Well, what else could I even expect?

Don't be this lazy, Jay,

I mentally scolded myself, pushing off the cushions and dragging my feet toward the front entrance.

I pulled the door open, and standing on the porch was a guy who looked like he had never seen the sun a day in his life.

He was super white—like, even whiter than me, and I've got fair-fair skin. Definitely a Britisher.

"Hey, miss! Are you Jaspher Jean Mariano?" he asked.

Oh god, his accent—it was so thick I barely understood half of what he said.

He was a purebred Britisher, all right.

Ahm, ahm...

I quickly cleared my throat, mentally prepping myself so my own English wouldn't sound like a total disaster.

"Oh, yes, I'm Jaspher Jean Mariano. But who are you?"

Could he be a kidnapper?

A sudden wave of panic hit me at my own thought, but... looking at his appearance, he didn't seem like the type to snatch people off the streets.

He was dressed in a crisp, professional blue suit, holding a sleek leather briefcase, and wearing wire-rimmed glasses. Honestly, he looked way more like a high-end doctor.

"Actually, I'm Dr. Nathaniel Reed—from Romana Asylum."

What?

Dr. Na... n.. nathe... Wtf,

I couldn't even pronounce his name in my head.

I flashed him an awkward, sheepish smile, suddenly feeling deeply embarrassed that my brain was short-circuiting over a name.

"ROMANA ASYLUM??!"

A loud, sharp voice rang out from just outside the doorway, coming from right behind the doctor.

Ehh?

both me and dr—Na-nathele... ugh!

Whoever he is—

flinched and whipped our heads around at the exact same time.

The doctor cleared his view only to reveal my so-called brothers and boyfriend, and yeah, rooster too—hihi, sorry Yuri.

They were all looking so shocked;

I even saw Kuya Angelo coming towards them too, looking deeply confused and tense at the sudden visitor.

They all seemed so shocked, standing frozen right there at the entrance.

But... wait a second!

Why does this name feel so... familiar?

Romana Asylum—I've heard about it somewhere before.

Then it hit my mind suddenly... oh my god!

He's the same psychiatrist whom Percy mentioned back there in the hospital during all that mess.

(Mentioned in ch 368 of book 3)

I stared at him wide-eyed, I really did, bcuz I was completely frozen and just didn't know how to react.

Keifer came to my side and instantly held my hand tightly.

Aries, Yuri, and Percy followed him and stood beside me to form a protective wall—ok, I'm feeling safe now.

But Kuya kept standing there staring at the doctor with his usual strict glare.

"How are you here?"

Keifer asked, his voice sharp and low.

"To meet Jaspher Jean Mariano."

He replied smoothly without losing his patient, professional face even for a second.

"Why now? You denied us when we called you earlier?"

Aries asked, crossing his arms defensively.

"You don't leave the asylum either?"

Percy added seriously, narrowing his eyes at the man.

I looked at him, and... seriousness doesn't really suit him at all.

"I didn't feel like denying when the Watsons called."

He replied flawlessly, looking unfazed.

Watsons? I don't remember any other Watson than Keifer and... his brothers. But I don't believe they'll talk to a doctor for me; they are good to me now, but still, it makes no sense.

But then... my breath hitched in my throat.

I remembered what Elara said to me that day right before everything went down.

Flashback

"I'll send him for you."

Flashback ends

My hand instantly traveled to my chest, rubbing it frantically. I was breathing hard, and the room started spinning.

Keifer and Aries noticed me instantly. "Jayyyy!"

They supported me quickly and helped me sit on the sofa before my legs could give out.

Aries hugged me quickly, patting my back as he whispered, "It's ok, it's ok, we'll send this doctor away, calm down."

Keifer caught my hands instantly, rubbing them for warmth, his eyes full of worry.

But I saw Kuya still talking to the doctor with my barely opened eyes, fighting hard to stay conscious.

"WATERRR!" I heard Keifer shout, and Percy was already sprinting toward the kitchen.

He came back in a flash.

Keifer took my head from Aries, propped it carefully against his chest, and held the glass to my lips so I could drink some water.

I took three to four sips before weakly pushing the glass away.

"It's ol', baby sista.

You don't need to force your tiny brain,"

Percy said,

Oh god, this littl--

Keifer shot him a deadly glare.

Keifer placed his warm palm against my cheek.

"He's right, Jay. You don't need to force yourself to remember anything,"

Keifer said softly.

But fresh tears slipped down my eyes.

Keifer's POV

She started crying as soon as I said that, sobbing like a kid.

She curled tightly into my chest. Aries and all the others instantly reacted, crowding around and asking her constantly what happened.

I just wrapped my arms tighter around her.

She was trembling and sobbing, looking like a small, fragile child.

It made my heart wrench.

I sometimes feel embarrassed and hellish weak whenever I realize that I might own more than half the wealth of the Philippines, but I am still damn fucking weak—that I don't even have a fraction of the power to take away even one percent of the trauma she's been carrying inside herself.

I looked down at her in my arms as I felt her looking up at me.

She looked at me with those trembling, glossy eyes, her lips shaking hard as she sobbed.

I noticed she looked like she wanted to say something, opening her mouth once and then closing it again.

"You don't need to force to remember, baby, it's ok,"

I said, feeling completely helpless as I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. But she just looked right at me...

"But I already remember."
