~five years later~
Jay-Jay's POV
"HURRAYYYYY! Titaaaaaaa,
HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYYYYY!"
"Happy Birthday, Jay!"
"Happy Birthday, Mutyaaaa!"
"Happy Birthday!"
"Vely vely Happy b'day titaaaa!"
Five years.
Five whole years had passed since that night in the warehouse, but right now, my ears were ringing for a completely different reason.
The moment I saw those two little menaces-
Elian and Andrei-
sprinting toward me like wild animals,
I immediately lowered myself to the floor, sitting on my heels so I was at their level before they could tackle me into the wall.
I pulled both of them into a tight hug.
"Tita!"
Elian demanded, pulling back and wiping his nose.
"Cut the cake fast! We need to eat!"
I raised a brow at him.
What the-
I quickly cut my own thought off.
Okay, no cursing in front of the kids.
Though, honestly, it was a joke at this point.
These two cursed more than I did when they thought no one was watching-
especially their father.
But of course they did.
They were two literal carbon copies of Kuya Angelo.
They both are just three years old, and yep! They are twins.
Means double menace.
And... okay, I won't deny it.
I definitely contributed a little bit to their chaotic development too. Hihi.
"Titaaaa! CAKEEEE!"
"Ugh!"
They violently pulled me right out of my thoughts.
"You!"
I pointed a finger straight at Andrei.
"And you!"
I pointed my other finger at Elian.
"Stay away from the cake!
It's mine," I said, rolling my eyes.
They stared at me in total disbelief.
Yeah, of course.
No compromise when it comes to food in this house.
"Okay, fine, I might let you have one bite too,"
I said, flashing my teeth in a big smile.
But instead of begging, both of them slowly smirked.
The exact same evil smirk Kuya Angelo gives when he's about to ruin someone's day.
Now I was the one raising a brow. "What?"
"It's okay, Tita!"
Andrei cheered loudly.
"WE'LL EAT THE WHOLE CAKEEEE!"
What the-
Don't curse, Jay.
Don't curse.
Guests are here, I pleaded with myself, mentally chanting it before Kuya could come over and lecture me.
And before I could even process what the twins were planning-
"JAYYYY JYYYYYYYYY!"
A terrifyingly familiar voice echoed across the living room, and before I could turn around-
"WTF, CNNNNN!"
I screamed as he practically launched his entire body weight over me, crashing into my shoulders and completely wrinkling my birthday dress.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JYYYYYY!"
CN yelled right into my ear, completely ignoring my glare as
he looked around the room.
"WHERE'S THE CAKEEEEE?!"
I pulled his arm off my neck and raised an eyebrow up at him, my dress ruined, my hair a mess, and two kids laughing their heads off at my expense.
CN just gritted his teeth into a wider, goofier grin.
Honestly, to this day, I still can't believe how Rakki actually agreed to be his girlfriend.
"Oh yes! There it is!"
CN shouted, his eyes lighting up like a kid on Christmas as he abandoned me and bolted straight toward the massive cake being rolled out.
The cake meant for Percy's engagement.
"Ah! Whatever, Percy will handle him,"
I muttered to myself, shaking my head.
Ever since I opened my eyes this morning, everyone everywhere has been shouting the exact same thing in my ear.
"Happy Birthday!" "Happy Birthday, Jay!"
I can't believe I'm actually sitting here mocking my own birthday inside my head, but I couldn't help it.
My phone was buzzing endlessly, so jammed with notifications that the more I scrolled, the more they seemed to multiply.
Right now, I'm standing on a decorated stage inside the grand party hall,
right beside Percy and Honey.
And yes-they are finally getting married!
Today is their official engagement party, which is amazing,
but... I honestly don't know why Percy insisted on holding it on my birthdayyyy!
Pop.
Another notification popped up on my screen.
It was from Kit.
Kit: Happy birthday, Mutya! Sorry I couldn't attend the party, but make sure to save some cake for me! Oh sorry us!.
"This ulupong!" I whispered under my breath.
He couldn't make it because he's all the way in America right now, "working for his future" with Mayo.
Though, okay, I really don't know what kind of future he's even talking about over there.
"Ughhh!" I let out a low groan, rolling my eyes at my screen.
Because hell... I've received notifications from literally everyone today.
Everyone except the one single person I actually wanted to hear from the most.
Atleast until last year, he used to wish me somehow, either by sending some gifts or through someone else like cn.
But.....he never talked to me in last five years.
Just let him come back once, I thought, my chest tightening.
I swear I'll kill him myself.
The anger flickered out as quickly as it came, replaced by a heavy, familiar ache.
I felt like crying right then and there.
No, Jay, don't. Your makeup will get completely ruined.
I tried so hard to fight it, but my eyes burned anyway.
A single, hot tear escaped and rolled down my cheek as the memory washed over me all over again...
How he had left me....
