Chapter 13 - Chapter 013 : Decisions & Departure

After the excitement of Kincsem's birthday party had died down, they had returned back to Opera House's home, with the pair of cousins laying down on the couch, TM Opera O's legs propped up on the console table. Today had been more consuming than even the practice race she had participated in a few days prior.

As she ruffled Kincsem's hair, its delicate nature let her fingers flow like strands of silk. "Did-cha have fun? Because I sure did!" Her stomach filled to the brim with good food yet as she recalled the cake, she was salivating again. "It's sad we only got two slices.. However, if you were to be able to choose how many, someone would have taken the entire cake for themselves!"

Chuckling to herself in reference to a specific grey haired Uma Musume. Her laughter died down as Kincsem replied to her question. "I had.. Lots of fun! Meeting all these talented people and the fact that they were all so friendly.." As she recalled the personalities of each person she met.

Some were overly compassionate, some were mischievous, and some were introverted or extroverted. Yet one thing they held in common was their friendly nature. Close knit and weaved in friendship and a collective understanding of what their goal was. At the race track, they may be friends, but they were in it to win.

All Uma Musume were inherently brimming with the desire to win. Some more so than others, with some even sacrificing their own future to do such feats. Even from her previous life, a friend had discussed the fan fiction they read. From distorted perceptions of how they acted, or a system that let someone run at their full potential at the expense of their life.

Even these alternative versions of Uma Musume still had the presence of such a desire to compete and win present. As Kincsem pondered to herself. Was it a good decision to take the scholarship from the Tracen who she had already bonded in, or the more reputable yet unknown Tracen to her…

As her thoughts became centred on this contemplation, she decided to make her choice.

"Are you fine with that decision..?" Cambuscan asked, with Kincsem nodding at her question. After thinking deeply, this was the right path for her future. "I believe that this is the best choice for myself." Before turning away to go to bed, a yawn covered by her hand came out, a long day it had been.

A few days had passed since their discussion, with Kincsem and her mother now packing up their belongings. Today was their flight back to Hungary, as TM Opera O stood in the door well to Kincsem's room.

"It's a shame you decided not to attend Japan's Tracen, but I hope you return here someday! For another race!" As she grappled onto Kincsem tightly, coiling her arms around the little cousin in a strong hug. "Make sure that you watch me when I win the Japan Cup! Ahaaha!"

A light cough came from Kincsem as she tried to wiggle her way out of the hug. "Y-you're hugging me too tight, cousin.." Feeling constricted by TM Opera O before being let go. "Sorry!~ Oh! And make sure to pick up all my calls else I will go to Hungary myself!"

A slight smirk arising from her face, Kincsem unsure of how serious the joke was as she closed her suitcase. Later today, they'd have to catch their flight home, and perhaps this would be the final time she'd see Opera O for a while, as she wore the same dress she had on when arriving in Japan.

Maybe due to having some souvenirs from her new friends, the suitcase was filled to the brim, having to be forcefully closed as the pair of them began to drag it down to the car. At the front of the home were both of their mothers, already stuffing in the other suitcase in the boot.

"Seems like you are finally going back, right?" Opera House asked. A rhetorical question as she had already known this was going to occur. As Cambuscan nodded, noticing both her daughter Kincsem and nephew TM Opera O in the corner of her eye, she grabbed the suitcase that they were moving and placed it into the boot.

Before which they huddled into the car and began to drive off to the airport. The ride was somewhat sombre in tone, with the arrival gate coming into view. Bold lettering in full display as the group got out of the vehicle. Suitcases rolling on the concrete ground as they moved further into the airport.

Inside the terminal, Kincsem and TM Opera O began to discuss of small talk amongst one another. As TM Opera O deeply clung onto Kincsem. Laughter that seemed somewhat mournful came from within the orange haired Uma. Whilst pulling away from her cousin.

"Hahaha!~ When we meet again, we should do a race together, and I will make sure to win! Sayonara, cousin!" As she turned away, her figure became distant. Who knew when they would once again meet. Only time would tell.

With them soon boarding the plane, it was time to go back home. After that, it'd be time to go to the place she had planned to go. The United Kingdom. Mainly due to British Tracen, yet it would be a foreign place. A country with a high pedigree when it came to Uma Musume.

Some of the best Uma Musume from the past century were British. With top tier monsters such as Brigadier Gerard and Dancing Brave raised into world class machines, as such by British Tracen. There was a high prestige that came from attending the central academy. Perhaps having similar notoriety to that of the American Branch.

There, it was likely Kincsem would develop highly. Perhaps even more so than in the other world. However, it was up to her own commitment, hard work, and what fate foretold in her own future.

Fate however, would not be the kindest to Kincsem. For Doom was written on the brow of her future.
