"Come here," he extended his hand again. "Look how dangerous it is down there. I'm the only one who can get you out. Trust me, you'll be fine."
Chu Jing raised her hand without hesitation.
SMACK! She knocked his hand away.
"You're not Qiu Ye."
She stared intently into his eyes and said, word by word, "You... are not him at all! Qiu Ye wouldn't speak in this tone, much less pretend to be so gentle at a time like this!"
Before the words were even out of her mouth, she had already grabbed a thick vine hanging beside her.
But strangely, no matter which new branch she leaped to,
that voice would always sound from the air behind her.
"Don't be afraid. I'm here."
She picked up her pace, her heart pounding like a drum.
