That night, an act of arson occurred in Aethelgard.
Overnight, the Golden Brocade Palace was burned to ashes. Dozens of luxury cars in the garage, with a total value exceeding two billion, were also all destroyed. The arsonist was Ethan Kingsley.
After that, Ethan Kingsley vanished from the face of the earth.
The explanation given by the Kingsley Family was that Ethan Kingsley was suffering from severe depression and had to go abroad for treatment.
As for the truth of the matter, only Claire Sinclair knew.
That night, Ethan Kingsley had sent her a message:
Ethan Kingsley: Little Cutie suffered her whole life. I've decided to burn some things for her, to give her a home in the afterlife.
Claire Sinclair: Why are you telling me this?
Ethan Kingsley: I don't want to keep it bottled up. I just really wanted to tell you, and only you.
Claire: Why me?
Ethan Kingsley: You're the person who understood her best in the world.
Claire: Alright.
