Claire Sinclair resignedly carried her things to a desk in the farthest corner. She glanced at the computer and saw it was even more rundown than her previous one.
'I'll just bring my own laptop tomorrow. I really can't get used to the computers here.'
Just as she was lost in thought, Phoebe Lockwood came over holding a cup. The water cooler was right next to her, so Phoebe was just getting some water.
While filling her cup, Phoebe Lockwood tilted her head back, staring smugly at Claire Sinclair with a triumphant grin. "Claire Sinclair, how are you settling into your new position? I hear it requires a lot of overtime."
Claire Sinclair forced a smile. "Thanks to you, I'm just wonderful."
"Heh. I'm sure things will only get better for you. Keep up the good work."
With that, Phoebe Lockwood took her cup of water and walked away.
Frustrated, Claire Sinclair stared blankly at her computer screen.
