"May Callahan? What are you doing here?"
Caleb Forrest really didn't want to see May Callahan right now. Just the sight of her made his skin crawl.
May Callahan shot him an eye-roll and said irritably, "Caleb Forrest, you think I wanted to come looking for you? I can't get ahold of Ivy White, and I don't know where she lives. So what's her plan? Is she going to pay back the five thousand yuan or not?"
"If she's planning to skip out on the debt, I'm going to the police. That'll be ugly for everyone involved."
Caleb Forrest opened his mouth to speak.
Five thousand yuan was a huge sum.
There was no way Ivy White could come up with that kind of money right now.
"May Callahan, is it really necessary to push her so hard? She lost her man, and it's already tough raising a child on her own..."
Before Caleb Forrest could finish, May Callahan cut him off irritably. "Who has it easy these days?"
"So she has it hard. You think my life is a walk in the park?"
