Lunch was over a little after one. Walter Winslow and the older generation started playing Chinese chess, while Holly Winslow, who hadn't done any homework all morning and still had a lot left, went up to her bedroom to get it done.
Mortimer Quincy was beside her, watching her write. Ahem, and so was Wyatt Winslow, who was mooching off the Wi-Fi to get some work done.
The bedroom was quiet, the only sounds being the clacking of a keyboard and the scratching of a pen on paper.
Suddenly, two sharp taps echoed on the desk. "Holly," came the young man's serious voice, "if vector a is parallel to vector b, then the product of vector a and vector b is ±|vector a| * |vector b|, or x1/x2 = y1/y2."
