Aiden Avery's expression was utterly grim as he watched the woman in the hospital bed. Ever since she'd woken up, she had been trying to call Tristan Grayson.
'Why can't this woman take a good, hard look in the mirror and see herself for what she is?'
'A woman who won't even live for three years, yet she's still deluding herself into thinking she can keep clinging to Tristan.'
'If she truly loved Tristan, she'd let him go. She'd stop him from wasting any more time on her. But clearly, that's not what this woman is thinking at all.'
He couldn't just stand by and watch this woman ruin Tristan. At that thought, Aiden Avery reached out and snatched the phone from Maggie Monroe's hand. His voice was cold and impatient as he snapped, "Maggie, you promised you wouldn't interfere with Tristan's life or his work. But what you're doing right now is seriously affecting him."
