From the moment she fell for Cassian Jennings, she had lost all reason, long ago turning into a madwoman in everyone's eyes.
Filled with rage, Cassian Jennings stood up and kicked a nearby table. "Get up," he roared. "I'll take you home. And don't ever come to this kind of place looking for me again."
Without waiting to see if she had gotten up, Cassian Jennings stormed out ahead of her.
Watching Cassian Jennings's retreating back, she could no longer hold back her tears as they began to fall.
'Is it really so hard to be with me?'
Often, she hated it—hated being Amelia Avery. If she weren't Amelia Avery, then maybe, just maybe, Cassian Jennings would consider accepting her.
At least Cassian Jennings wouldn't treat her so cruelly.
