The guys couldn't help but say, "Told you! I knew Vera Xavier was framed. Totally called it!"
"I've figured it out now. This whole thing was instigated by that girl, Susan Caldwell. Tsk, tsk."
"I've heard the saying that there's nothing more venomous than a woman's heart. Today, Susan Caldwell really gave us all a vivid lesson!"
Shane Caldwell, however, felt an inexplicable sense of relief. By all rights, Susan Caldwell was his cousin, and he should have been on her side. But for some reason, seeing her surrounded and beaten by a mob of girls felt incredibly satisfying!
He looked over at Vera Xavier, who was standing calmly amidst the crowd, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. For some reason, he was reminded of the time Vera had dealt with Cara Preston at Lingchen No. 1 High School. She had been just as poised and unruffled back then.
He realized in that moment that this was the real Vera Xavier. She was never one to let herself be bullied.
