Cara Preston sighed. "You told Mom and Dad you were going to study hard at school, but you weren't even paying attention in class. You were stealing glances at the class president the whole time. Is that being fair to them?"
The moment Shane Caldwell heard this, he immediately looked over at Vera Xavier. 'So she was stealing glances at me?' A wave of satisfaction washed over him. 'I knew I was charming, after all.'
'That means our meeting yesterday afternoon wasn't a coincidence. She must have been following me.'
