Before she could finish, a very familiar, taunting voice came from behind her. "You want embers? A lone female like you without a male's protection isn't allowed to get them."
Wu Yue rolled her eyes. 'For crying out loud, why do I have to run into this idiot Aya everywhere I go?'
The Beastman guarding the fire nodded. "The tribe does have this rule. Fire is too dangerous. A young female can't get it by herself without a male for protection."
Aya leaned against the male Half-beastman behind her, looking at Wu Yue smugly. "I'm here for some embers, too."
The words had barely left her mouth when the guard let the male Half-beastman behind her pass. A moment later, he came back out, carefully cradling a stone bowl that held a small, flickering flame.
Aya quickly went forward, cupping her hands around the bowl to shield the flame.
