Austin Thorne's head was still swimming from the blow he'd just taken. Instead of wasting words on Keith Chambers, he pulled his phone from his coat pocket and dialed Laura Lowell's number directly.
Inside the hotel room, Laura Lowell stared at her relentlessly ringing phone. She hesitated for a few seconds before finally accepting the call.
"Laura, leave with me. I'll be better to you than Aiden Shaw is."
Laura Lowell looked at Austin Thorne standing in the middle of the crowd, utterly infuriated by his absurd words. "I'm Aiden's wife and the mother of his child. I have never, ever liked you. Why do you insist on scheming and harassing me like this?"
"But I love you. I want to give you the happiest life in the whole world."
Laura Lowell scoffed. "If Aiden hadn't been fully prepared, you probably would've already stormed in here with your men and dragged me away, wouldn't you?"
