Laura Lowell had no work scheduled for the next few days. After yesterday's public relationship announcement, Jolene Joyce told her not to come to the office, saying a crowd of fans was camped out by the entrance.
That guy, Zachary Redgrave, had already flown abroad for a music video shoot. When he found out about her announcement, he'd nearly blown up Laura Lowell's phone.
At noon, Laura Lowell ordered takeout. After eating, she curled up on the sofa to binge-watch a show.
She was right at a heart-wrenching scene when the phone on the coffee table started ringing.
Laura Lowell leaned over and picked up her phone. It was the director of the orphanage.
"Dean Miller, is something wrong?"
"Laura, Mido just had a heart attack. We're already on our way to the hospital."
Dean Miller's anxious voice came from the other end of the line.
Laura Lowell shot up from the sofa in a panic and ran toward her bedroom. "I'll call my friend at the hospital right away. I'm heading over now."
