Aurora Sterling was completely satisfied with this 'late-night snack.' If Damien Valerius hadn't stopped her, pointing out that it was getting late and that eating too much would affect her sleep, she probably would have kept going until eleven.
Aurora rubbed her full belly as she slowly made her way up the stairs.
Damien Valerius followed attentively behind her. Seeing her lean back slightly from how full she was, his brow furrowed in regret that he hadn't stopped her sooner.
When Aurora Sterling reached the landing, she turned to face Damien Valerius. "I was supposed to be keeping you company for dinner, so how did I end up eating more than you?"
It was true. Throughout the entire meal, it seemed Damien Valerius had only taken a few bites before stopping.
Damien Valerius placed his large, warm hand over her stomach. "You ate it all. What was left for me to eat?"
Aurora Sterling blushed. "Nonsense! I did not eat it all!"
