Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Shocking Change

Aurora Sterling stood there, a faint smile gracing her lips as everyone stared in shock and disbelief. Her posture was graceful and poised.

The pink dress she wore was a haute couture piece from a luxury brand. The designer only released a few dresses and gowns each season, and every single one was notoriously difficult to wear, demanding a flawless figure to look good. Consequently, while many socialites and young ladies were desperate to own one of the designer's creations, very few actually had the body to pull it off.

Without a doubt, the Aurora Sterling before them pulled off the dress flawlessly. Combined with her delicate, exquisite face, she looked just like a porcelain doll, leaving the guests utterly stunned.

Aurora Sterling gave a slight nod to the crowd. "Hello, everyone," she said, her voice sweet. "I'm Aurora Sterling. Welcome to our family's luncheon. I hope you all enjoy yourselves, and please forgive us for any shortcomings in our hospitality."

My God! That porcelain doll was really Aurora Sterling!

What happened to that delinquent girl with the tacky, over-the-top clothes and gaudy, vulgar makeup? This Aurora Sterling was clearly a true socialite, on par with any of the most well-bred young ladies in the room!

A perfect face, a perfect body, and even such a sweet voice... How could this possibly be the same idiotic Aurora Sterling from before? It was like she was a completely different person!

The young ladies who had been bad-mouthing Aurora Sterling just moments ago now stared at her, stunned. When they saw her expensive dress and the limited-edition jewelry she wore, their eyes involuntarily gleamed with envy.

Sharon Dalton stood beside them, taking in their shock and their envy of Aurora. Sharon secretly clenched her fists, her eyes betraying a deep-seated hatred for Aurora Sterling.

'Why?! I was supposed to be the most dazzling person at this luncheon! Why did it have to be that idiot, Aurora Sterling!'

'I refuse to believe someone can change their personality overnight. With that impulsive, idiotic brain of hers, Aurora is bound to make a fool of herself at this luncheon!'

Watching Aurora introduce herself so gracefully and chat with the guests, Mrs. Sterling smiled in satisfaction. 'It seems my unreliable granddaughter truly wants to turn over a new leaf.' However, given Aurora's checkered past, Mrs. Sterling, though happy, couldn't let her guard down completely. 'I still need to watch this girl's behavior carefully.'

Aurora knew Mrs. Sterling didn't fully trust her yet, so she remained demurely by her grandmother's side. She was careful to take her cues from Mrs. Sterling's expressions as she spoke and acted, strictly minding her etiquette.

As Mrs. Sterling's smile deepened and her gaze toward Aurora grew more satisfied, Sharon Dalton finally couldn't stand it any longer.

'Although Aurora's reputation is in tatters, this one luncheon won't be enough to fix it overnight. But this is a good start for her. I absolutely cannot let her have a chance to make a comeback, or all of my mother's and my plans will have been for nothing.'

Just then, while Aurora was standing obediently by Mrs. Sterling's side and helping her entertain guests, Sharon Dalton approached, bringing with her the same young ladies who had been gossiping about Aurora earlier.

The moment Aurora saw the look on Sharon Dalton's face, she knew. 'She's up to no good.'

Sure enough, as Sharon Dalton drew near, she put on a beaming smile and said to Mrs. Sterling, "Grandma, Miss Miller and her friends were hoping to take a tour of the Sterling estate, but they felt it would be improper without a host to accompany them, so they asked me for help."
