Cedric Grant shot an awkward glance at Clara Grant across from him, then irritably interrupted the person on the phone. "Jean, are you crazy? What's all this about me mistreating Chloe? She's my daughter too. How could I possibly mistreat her? What's there to worry about just because she went out? I'd be more worried if she never left the house!"
"Going out isn't the problem, but why has her phone been unreachable?" Jean Jarvis, however, wasn't so optimistic. Her eyelid had been twitching nonstop, and she had a terrible feeling in her gut, a premonition that something bad was about to happen.
Just then, a maid had called to tell her that Chloe had left the house looking rather strange. Jean's heart had instantly leaped into her throat. Even though she didn't know what terrible thing might happen, she couldn't rest easy until she found her daughter.
