"Chloe, you—calm down..." Adam said, sidestepping her attack.
Chloe spun around and lunged at him again. Adam had just regained his footing and had no time to dodge. He could only turn his body and raise his arm to block the blow.
Blood dripped from the dagger onto the floor. The wound wasn't deep, but it was enough to thoroughly infuriate Adam Warren.
As Chloe stabbed at him again, he shot out his uninjured hand and seized her wrist in a tight grip.
Chloe cried out in pain as her grip loosened. The dagger fell to the floor with a CLANG.
Before she could react, Adam shoved her onto the nearby sofa.
'She's just a fragile woman. As if I can't handle her.'
Even though the sofa was soft, the fall left Chloe dazed and confused. She woozily pushed herself up, her eyes scanning the floor for the fallen dagger.
