Clara Grant watched her go, breathing a quiet sigh of relief. She'd known that as long as Autumn Shelby was here today, a verbal spar was unavoidable.
But as long as it didn't cause a scene at the banquet, she wouldn't let it bother her.
After all, Autumn Shelby was Seth Quinn's ex-girlfriend, and she was still in love with him. It was only natural for her to feel upset seeing another woman being so affectionate with him. Clara could understand that.
Seth Quinn took her arm, attempting to explain, "Clara, I originally didn't want the Shelby Family to attend. But you know, sometimes things aren't as simple as we'd like..."
Clara Grant smiled and squeezed his hand. "I understand. Besides, why shouldn't we invite them? Let Autumn Shelby see how in love we are. It'll be good to finally crush any hope she has of getting you back."
She finished with a playful wink.
