Jessie Sterling beamed at the man across from her. "Happy with the taste?"
"Mhm," Victor Morgan nodded.
It was hard for a man with his personality to string together a long series of compliments.
Jessie's eyes held a hint of pride. "I made it!"
When Victor Morgan heard this, a flash of astonishment crossed his eyes.
Then, he couldn't stop a smile from slowly spreading across his face.
It was a genuine smile, impossible to hide in the slightest.
The next moment, Victor Morgan reached out and took Jessie Sterling's hands from the table.
Jessie was startled by his action and tried to pull her hands back. "What are you doing?"
But Victor Morgan held her by the wrists, not letting her break free.
"What made you decide to cook? Let me see if you got hurt," Victor Morgan said.
They'd been married for quite some time, and he'd never once seen Jessie Sterling in the kitchen.
He found it hard to believe that a novice could go into the kitchen and not get hurt at all.
