Part of the Holy Temple Spaceship was a Monastery, and at the rear of the Monastery was the Library.
Burning Holy Oil cast a faint, dim light. It was a relic from the old planes, a mixture of whale fat and musk that released an expensive, alluring fragrance. The Priest-in-Training moved with slow, deliberate steps, carrying the oil lamp as he weaved between the bookshelves. He had recently had a loud argument with the Technology Priest in front of the Lord Bishop—a serious lapse in composure. He desperately needed to find peace and reflect on the scriptures.
At least, that was the intention. But a sense of disquiet prevailed.
